Ok bit mad but just wondering if anyone else has this problem!! I drive a fair bit and have noticed that my right arm is looking amazingly tanned, only thing is my left arm is really white lol, so has anyone else noticed this and has anyone come up with a solution , and please dont say sit in the passenger seat, my g/f suggested this, but when the police pulled me the other night they werent to sypathetic about my uneven tan

Yep, with you there. Worse still is quarter forehead from the sunroof. Not only that I can feel the over exposed bit stretching tighter as the evening goes on.

Suggestions: -

1. Stop being such a poser and putting yer arm out of the car whilst driving.

2. Be well dressed and wear a long sleeve shirt.

3. Drive south in the morning and north in the afternoon. (hope I got that correct)

Unless you can master driving backwards you are stumped.:(

You could always go for half a St. Tropez, which isn't like half a Brazilian by the way.:D

Re: One armed sunburn!!

I don't get it that bad, cos I never have the window down, I open the passenger window rather than the drivers, it's less noisey.

No, if Inspector Gadget made him some special glasses, which meant he could sit in the driver's seat, and drive facing backwards, his left arm could be tanning daintly through his window.

I've been driving professionally for over 30 years and I haven't found a way to cure it except drive all day with my jacket on or a long sleeved shirt, which is not always comfortable on hot sunny days. I guess it just goes with the job, you gotta live with it.

Red arms nothing though!

I was gardening and have half a tanned face!

How do owls turn their heads right round?

I could then weed and follow the sun round to stop this hideous calamaity from happening to me again.:(

On reflection, apologies Garinda, didn't get that right, did I ? Would still be the same arm.

Only one thing for it, get a decent car with air conditioning as works best when window closed, then you won't have a problem.

Accrington was bloody hot today; a lot hotter than Blackpool are that’s how it appeared to me. Don’t like the heat although this year is probably the first time I’ve ever allowed myself to get a tan. I normally stay in and avoid the Sun.

I don’t know what it’s like over there now, but its Shreddies weather up here and the fans not helping. Its hot and humid, the dog stinks and I’m not much better and worse of all I’ve run out of beer.

It's still sultry and clammy here.

I'm sat here naked with the French doors open, but in the words of Nick Ross on Crimewatch 'please don't have nightmares'.

me too, but don't tell anyone rindy, they'll gossip.
been too hot today, and I didn't get to go anywhere. Tomorrow it's severn valley railway for the war weekend with a picnic on the bank of the river.

i think people a getting this wrong and dont relise that when the window is closed it is worse and the window acts as a sort of magnifying glass

Can’t be to careful can you. I ‘m staying in Ossy tonight and have just report some bloke for exposing himself walking around by his French windows. I felt tight doing it really as he had nowt to expose. :D

Seriously then, like Katex said cover up. A long sleeved loose cotton shirt will stop it or a high factor sun cream.

Welcome to Accy Web by the way.:)

Why's all the skin coming off your right arm though?:D

ye you have done a welcome post and we can't say hi here it would be off topic, and we can't go off topic can we rindy.
I've found it's worse if the window is open.
You sit in the drivers seat and use your gf's right arm.

Oh, they will !

Can see you a lost cause elite .. can only suggest you don't speak to people full frontal.

Kept us night owls amused last night though and, of course, is a serious social problem to boot. :)

I leave the windows up and turn on the air con. Then I can drive cool comfortable and my hay fever doesn't bother me because most air con systems have a pollen filter.

Re: One armed sunburn!!

Use a spray tan on the left arm to try and even things out.

Or one leg of an old pair of American tan tights used as an arm stocking, taking care to wash the gusset well for reasons of health and safety, will achieve a similar effect.:D

Rindy; I hope she wasn’t wearing them when you tried this style of Sun screening out. I don’t know where all this comes from my friend  but its time you found yourself a hobby. Have you tried Snake wrestling? :D
