Can I just say that this was not a statement from Mid Pennine Arts, it was a gut feeling based on what has been posted on here.

The situation from Mid Pennine Arts is that we are still exploring possibilities - they could be new site, new design, new artist but at this point we have no idea what they could be. The Hyndburn one is at the back of the queue with 4 being built this year and the end date is looming.

The reason that I posted this thread is because the subject keeps coming up in different contexts and people keep reading different things into anything I say about it. When I say that nothing is happening at the moment, that is what I mean. We are not secretly plotting to launch one on you all at the last minute, we are not looking at pushing for any of the past designs to ever be used, we are not doing any work on a Panopticon for Hyndburn at the moment. It is at the back of the queue and that is where it will stay whilst we are working on the other four. The project funding is due to end in March 07!

Politicians have an audience to, a very large audience. Sometime someone will remind the electorate to watch the the show. If the politicians find this out they tend to put on very good acting, so convincing that the electorate doesn't see the the real politician, but they only see the character being played.

Thats in the past. There is funding there though that could be used for something on the coppice, but it looks like it will be blocked again by the same person before it's even been discussed.

I'm sorry but I really don't want to discuss this any more and I do wish other people would let it lie.

Every time I post something about it I get a phone call from the Lancs Eve Tel. I repeated once again, yesterday, that nothing about the situation in Hyndburn had changed for the last 8 or 9 months but he still wanted to know what was going on and probably didn't believe me when I said "nothing".

All I was doing by posting this thread was to ask people to stop talking about it on a different, slightly related, topic, or any other topic for that matter. It was not because there was anything new to say. We go over the same arguments every time, please, can I ask one more time to leave it alone, there really is nothing more to say and if anything does happen I promise I will let you know.

Everything that I say is being read by the local press, as was proven by the drama festival thing and this latest thread and in my attempts to be as open as possible people are still managing to read things into things I say.

Know this off thread, however, sure Gayle is relieved and can close her subject down here.

It is a theatrical thing Hatter, and you can be forgiven for misundertanding this as many new actors can get a little confused. Technically you are correct, but even though to you stage right is stage left, if you are in the audience .. still has to be referred to as stage right.

Gayle will verify this to.

Yep, Katie's right - stage right to the people on stage is where we're moving to. It's a director's thing so that they can send actors to the right part of the stage. It is confusing but it's nothing to do with how the audience views it just how the actor knows how to move around on the stage.

It cant be dropped because that was the propposed panoptican site, and this could be added to and made hyndburns panoptican.
It needs discussing on here within that thread, regardless of whether the panoptican is on hold.
What do the papers want to do this time slag it off before anythings done so that it gets blocked before its started again.
