Good morning or should I say good afternoon.

Thought I would wish you all a good day. My day is just beginning 9am here, 2pm there. It is a hot sticky day here in Toronto, 32C but closer to 40 with the humidity. Thank goodness for air conditioning. I get the impression that the majority of the folk on this site still live in Accy or areas close by.Things I miss the most, the people, the pubs and steak puddings.:)

The weather does seem to have gotten hotter over there, maybe something to do with global warming. The hottest I remember as a kid was the heatwave in 1977 I think that was the year.

Was it 77 then? Remember all the adverts about saving water, I think there was even one about not flushing the loo as often.

can't remember mthead, I was only 6, but I don't think we did.
Amazing how can remember the quarry and the rusty old car being in the bottom to say I was only 6.
It was really bad though wasn't it, Nowdays we have a week of sun and they think thats a drought. Same with the snow and cold wheather, one day of snow gone the next, but it's caused havock.

British Bulldog and Arrows, now that brings back memories.I take it your version of arrows ws the same as ours?where you made your own arrow with a piece of dowl and flights made out of an old playing card?Playing Bulldog nowadays you would get all the kids parents arguing that ther little John has been hurt with the others little Pete. Not heard of that game being played for years......:)

I wasn't brilliant at it Hatter. It was always the really big lads that was the worst to catch.I think the rest of us clung together like a school of fish, the safety in numbers thing.:)

If we were lucky and I mean lucky you had chalk to play arrows if not lollipop sticks were good. I can't remember the name of the game where someone would be in the middle of the road and shout port or starboard and you had to get to the other side. I am sure there was other ones as well. My all time favourite was ralleyo, spent many night running around Trinity st in Ossy playing that one.
