All in A days work

I've been thinking, nosey git that I am, I don't know what most of you do or did for your living.
So what do you or did you do, what did it involve and what good and bad points did/does it have. Which bits did you find most rewarding.

I started off as an Electrician, and I still do odd electrical jobs, although I don't bother as much now because of new legislation. If I paid for the up grade to my qualifications necessary, and paid for the government approval, I'd be forced to do electrical work to get my money back for that year.

Now I mostly drive a lil white transit, Up until I had my op last april I worked on missroutes for tnt, Starting from here at 1pm and going up north west with six parcels and getting them off before closing was a hrd slog which I don't miss. I do miss getting about as much as I did though, If it wasn't for my job I would never have got to see and get to know my
in liverpool as well as I did, wouldn't have ended up moving there so that was a rewarding part. I also delivered human tissue for transplant cornea's, blood etc and took bio samples to hospitals and vetinary practices for test so that was rewarding too
It's always nice when someones waiting for something thats been lost or delayed and instead of having a go at me and threatening me, that they are plaeased and greatful that I've rushed it there as quick as I can and that they've got it. That happened yesterday with some fragrance addative to a company in lincolnshire, they had an order to get out, and were pleased to get it.
I like the direct deliveries, I've had mostly inter depot deliveries the last year with chemicals explosives amunitions etc. gets boring not meeting joe public. I'm glad I'm doing more direct deliveries again.

I run a home based day care which is enough to keep me busy, but my biggest and most rewarding job is raising my 4 children. Which at the moment with no school is a big challenge. Here they get 10 weeks summer hols which is a long time to keep kids amused.

I have been a postman for 18years, the pay isnt great, but once you get in the van you are "your own boss" as long as you get your work done, and much better than sitting in an office.I often finish by midday, so get a lot of time to myself til my son comes home from school.another good thing is i have 4 weeks off in school holidays.agree with magily most rewarding job is bringing up my 12 year old son.
