Why?

What makes you short tempered in the run up to Christmas, or are you one of those people who are full of the festive spirit?

Re: Why?

Ive been short tempered this year...daughter is after another toy......im sure i did'nt go on and on and on and on and on and on and on when i was a kid.....

I have been out around the county today and the festive season is taking a grip....the number of santas, lights and tree's decorating the outside's of the houses is amazing.....best one so far is a local house, take a look up Green Howarth, turn left at the Shoulder and 500yds on yer right....this house has been the best in the borough for the last few years, must cost em a bomb for the lights neve mind the lekky.....If anyone drives up there don't even think about stopping for a better look....too dangerous...no place to pull over without causing an accident.

Do not be too sure about that Blues Master. This year i will not be making the mistake of getting all the Xmas Pressies in November.Going to start getting them all in the sales during the year.I reckon that i can make hell of a saving. This way i can keep all of my Xmas bonus 60% of wage for me.Well at least i get summat out of Xmas

janet 08-01-2004 17:59

I have bought all my xmas cards in the half price sale, got enough for the next couple of years. Unless i find a lot more friends between now and xmas.

Nessie 08-01-2004 18:32

if you are anything like me Janet, you save money buying cards in the sale, but come next Christmas, you can't remember where you put them for safe keeping.

lettie 09-01-2004 08:01

:jump3: I always get my cards, wrapping paper and tags in the sales, and more surprisingly remember where I put them. Nothing gets me stressed about Christmas, because I always work it. Hence, never have to cook the dinner, buy loads of food, entertain etc. The only thing that bugs me a bit is not being able to get off Asda car park, as everybody goes mad, and they are only shut for 2 days. Went inbetween Xmas and New Year (just doing my normal shop) and it took me 20mins to get off the car park.

Tealeaf 12-01-2004 13:11

You should have put some petrol in your car & then you would'nt have had to push it..

lettie 12-01-2004 19:20

 It would've actually been quicker for me to walk to Asda, but I'm too bone idle to carry the bags home.

Bagpuss 12-01-2004 19:34

No Asda for me it's Tesco Online, it saved loads of hassle this year and money.

Nessie 13-01-2004 06:08

Are you telling me they delivered everything you ordered, nothing missing and no substitutions?
My Christmas order had a full container missing and they had no cooked meat I had ordered. The one for New Year had six items not in stock and three items missing. After that I decided to give them a miss in future, you pay for the phone call to tell them what is missing and they keep you hanging on while they contact the delivery van.

Bagpuss 13-01-2004 21:25

My Christmas order had 2 substitutions, diet lemonade for normal and 100w light bulbs for 60w, this is about normal I have found and it wasn't a problem. The only time I've had to ring them was when a tub of cream was open and spilled on a few items, the call was quick and I wasn't charged for any items in the bag where the cream spilled even items that where ok.
