a load of rubbish , if any truth existed in the article its credibility went up in smoke at the mention of Fox news personnel , No one in thier right mind thinks Fox (Rupert Murdoch) Newscorp or any of it's emplyees have any worthwhile credentials or qualities, Fox News in the US is nothing more than a training school for future Lord HawHaws and Tokio Roses.

Such a hot bed of free thinking intellectualism.

You can even buy American Thinker clothing, all white of course.

I think the pointy hoods must be on a different page though.

I'd have thought there were more anti-muslims than anti-semitics in Britian judging by the media.

It will be a small but very vocal minority an because of that the media picks up on it. They get good stories from a bit of rotating the warm brown smelly stuff. There always has and will be those that are anti religion in one form or another which is sad when religion regardless of type promotes peace and understanding.

If you want to know what is going on in the world listen to or watch the BBC news and even the ITV news. However the written press is a different animal. They are in business to sell newspapers and rarely let the facts get in the way of a story.

The BBC is and has been respected all over the world for REPORTING NEWS AS IT IS. If a reporter offers an opinion it is clear that it is an opinion of the reporter.

Don't get tetchy Darling, just because you have now twice felt the pointed end of my tongue, due to your narrow minded view of the world...and if you had read more of the forum's threads you would see I enjoy pouring disdain on plenty of other things that displease me.

I'm never that keen on posting on threads started with cut and paste scraps from other websites without very much opinion added.

Lazy in my book, so I'll butt out of your thread.:D

Ciao x:)

There was a womderful programme on British television tonight on the disgraceful way the compensation to the widows of the victims of 9/11 was awarded.

America land of the free, where your dead body is apparently worth less to your country if you happen to be a cleaner rather than say a corporate boss, and don't even expect anything if you are only the common law spouse of a victim.

Very democratic.;)

No compensation over here, paltry though it was for the victims of the London bombings, wasn't based soley on how much you earned.

So if you earned say $250,000 as opposed to $15,000 persay then the compensation was based on your earning power!

What if the person on $15k had three kids and the person on $250k had non the high earners dependent got more!

Thats a scandel a BIG mother of a scandal!!!!!

Its a case of screw you if poor.

Yes, according to the unbiased BRITISH documentary tonight, the widows of the victims of 9/11 were paid compensation in direct relation to their loved one's earnings. Thus the lives of cleaners say who were killed, were deemed less financally worthy than some of the big wigs higher up the corporate ladder.

its a bit like that other link someone posted a few weeks back where it showed alleged propaganda or anti-sementic views etc but it was just a biased rather than a neutral view point.

and this is the same too - just going to the front page - every article in there is almost claiming to soem form of anti-sementism

but as a awesome lil auto-advertising...

property in makkah
halal morgages
single muslims

*LOL*

A few of Barbs posts have been about alledged anti-Semitism.

Strange that, or is that an anti-Semitic statement?:D

Well said! I'd have to wonder about a website that awards itself the rather grandiose title "American Thinker." If they feel the need at the outset to congratulate themselves on their intellect, could that be because they don't really to earn such plaudits from the rest of the world?

Hope things are going well in Ossy, Garinda! Will be back to visit the neighborhood with Pendy and David later in the year! Probably will be a bit too nippy to sit outside drinking and singing, though.

The Daily Telegraph recently published this story.....
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...1/nhijab21.xml
Govt. Minister (Ruth Kelly) says she thinks more women appearing in the media (I presume she means Television) should be seen wearing the Hijab (islamic head covering for women)
my question is .....how do users of this group feel about this ?
would you watch the evening news if the female newsreader was wearing a Hijab ? or would you automatically think the news had a biased slant

maybe one of the Moderators could set up a poll , thanks

mani 23-09-2006 03:37

Re: The Beeb

i think every news media has its own agenda and slant. they realise how powerful the media is these days

so from the likes of fox/cnn/sky news which is widely brushed off as biased to the beeb which has its own lil tricks to having gun men in the studio as the newscasters praise the new military govt as in thailand

gettin unbiased reporting is impossible i think.

Re: The Beeb

one news station which seems fairly neutral is DW tv (english language) out of Germany, here in the States its available through some PBS tv stations .I think in Europe its available on satellite
