Just saw the version of the report on TV and there was no mention of the vitamins reaching the eyeballs.

You see Tealeaf you were commenting on what you'd heard on Radio4 not on what I'd posted which was in response to what I'd heard this morning.

My point is still the same that if fat in the diet stops certain vitamins from being absorbed it does not follow that fat people are short of those vitamins because fat people do not all consume fats and not all people who consume fats are fat. That's the fallacy.

This woman on TV mentioned obesity leading to diabetes but I know more slim diabetics than overweight ones. Maybe the facts there are that the fat ones wouldn't be diabetic if they weren't fat but on the other hand what about all the fat people who aren't diabetic?

Sometimes it isn't cause and effect. Sometimes it's just coincidence.

I think, Willow, you need to change to change your listening & viewing habits pretty fast.

It will turn out to be something or nothing based on a small sample and imput. Unless put down with a least 10 years data covering thousands of people it aint worth tosh.

:)Well it would be a very narrow view we'd have of things if we all only listened to the same report as each other and heard the views of only one expert wouldn't it? Variety is what gives us a different viewpoint. After all just because the Radio 4 report and the TV didn't mention the vitamins does that make that part erroneous?

My opening post was referring to the vitamin part of the story that's all and I still say that the conclusion drawn in that part of the report is flawed.
