FIREWORKS
what do you think of the sale of fireworks ?
|
Re: FIREWORKS
Results stay hidden? Why? Spoils the fun IMHO
|
Re: FIREWORKS
Agree.
More likely to invite comments if the vote can be seen. :) |
Re: FIREWORKS
if we knew when they were going to be we could sort the pets out instead of trying to second guess all the differant people letting them off
|
Re: FIREWORKS
I think that they should only be sold to organisations like the Councils and they should arrange a show every year.
Stop some of the problems and stop people having bonfires in back alleys. 15 times we had to call the fire brigade out over Bonfire Night. |
Re: FIREWORKS
I notice that there isn't a comment on there that kids should be better educated to the dangers or parents should be more resposible, regardless of whose selling them, or law changes ect, kids will always get there hands on them. But show them some real consequences to the dangers, then they might think twice

Re: FIREWORKS
You all know my opinion.
Ban em. No fire works no injuriies and even death. Horrible Things. |
Re: FIREWORKS
mmm i agree with the fire works thing registered disply`s only, but bon fire`s naaa that should be alowed on feilds ect, they have been in the past kids used to love getting all the wood they could find toghether,

A bit of a sweeping statement anyway. it's only the minority who perform these mindless acts. Know of people even when I was little who got hurt that way. Also had the experience of having our house set alight by kids who thought it was a laugh to dispose of our garden stockpile, and that was back in 1963. These days though the situation has got beyond a joke when our overstretched fire services are stoned when trying to put out fires. Maybe the situation is more widespread now due to social factors. Lack of parental control being one. Aside from this, fireworks being set off regularly by this minority are not fireworks as we knew them, but potentially lethal weapons. I notice one of the changes proposed in the 2003 fireworks act is a curfew on fireworks after 11pm. That'll do a lot of good when the majority are let off before this time anyway.(actually had one go off up here at 7.30 this morning by the way!) And why should we have to tolerate this noise nuisance on any other night exept Nov 5th and New Year's Eve anyway? If this level of noise pollution was from any other source action would be taken to stop it. >:( |
Re: FIREWORKS
Your not wrong Cazzer. It did go on when we were kids.
Kids are kids what ever generation they come from and you will always get good and bad. It's just that everything seems bigger and louder these days. I have been saying ban them since I was in secondry school. If we absalutly must have these potentially lethal things then let it be one organized display per town. |
Re: FIREWORKS
Have to agree with that one. [smiley=stop.gif]

Re: FIREWORKS
So looking at the pole over halve of the people that voted wants a proper organised display lets hope the law is changed in that direction soon.
I think in the long run it would be a lot safer and quieter than it is now. Thankyou for voteing . we will see what happens ;D |
