Re: Pets

;D I have a dog (Tina)  she's 7 years old and a cross between an English Bull Terrier and a Staffie
She's very spoilt and a big softie, though she doesn't look it. She doesn't like other dogs, but
adores cats. My old cat unfortunately died in January she was 16, and the dog was depressed for
6 months. I don't have a picture to put on here, as I have no equipment to do it with yet, but will put one on in the future :-*

Re: Pets

ive got a cat called carling. we have had him since he was a kitten, apparently he looked like a can of carling so my other have gave him the name. he is now 6 years old, very fat and lazy. he doesnt go out that much due to some b*****d kids tying a bag round his head and giving him a right old kicking, luckily he only got a broken jaw, it could have been far worse.

lettie 01-11-2003 06:59

Re: Pets

;D  Cazzer, my dog would love it at your house with all those cats.
My mum has 4 cats, and it's the first place the dog heads for when we go for
walks. I get dragged there every day. :D

Re: Pets

My daughter's just moved, but where she lived before, one of her cats used to go in next door and curl up on the sofa with the neighbour's dog! They were best buddies. :)

this is not my pet, but it's lovely phóto I took in Siberia. Cute eh?

Re: Pets

I agreed with dizzy some people should not have pets. Our dog Normie's last owner put a collar on him at a week old and never loosed it up .Now Normie has a scar all the way around his neck. People look at us like we did it when he gets his hair cut. the guilty party got to turn over his pets to the the vets on post and a tap on the hand. Sometimes there is no justice.

With a crust on them, and carrots and gravy, and perhaps a few small boiled potatoes.

;D

Re: Pets

:(  Poor Mario the rabbit doesn't half get some stick on this site. Don't think I could bring myself to eat rabbit as I had one as a kid. Leave him alone, or I'll set my Bull terrier on you :-*

janet 06-11-2003 20:49

Re: Pets

Last time i ate rabbit was in malta on holiday 1980, it was served as a starter done with peas and gravy, never felt the need to re-experience it since.

Dizzy D 07-11-2003 06:08

Re: Pets

Yeh stop picking on poor Mario  :'(  Bless his little cotton socks  :(

Jo 07-11-2003 06:27

Re: Pets

Thanks Lettie, thanks Diz, I'll pass on youir support to Mario - he says he's gonna post a bag full full of his droppings through Tealeaf's and Fangio's door next time he's in England.

Used to take Mario for walks in the woods, Janet when we lived in the mountains, but now we're in the town it's a bit harder! We do take him on the roof terrace to sunbathe sometimes though!

Re: Pets

JO, when i lived in huncoat i used to have a cat that i took for walks in the cematery, used to put her on a puppy lead. I am quite sure the folk around there thought that i was mad as an hatter.well still mad,but hell of a lot older. ;D

Caz 07-11-2003 16:02

Re: Pets

@mick.
There is that front line stuff that you can get from the vets, but it's very expensive, about £15 a throw I think.
Been trying various sprays for the cats themselves. Zodiac is one, you can get it on the stall in the market. but you need to treat the house as well or it's a vicious circle.
Have  now discovered "Defest" an aerosol spray you can use on your carpets & such. The one I used last was about £6 and we needed 2 sprays, but once it's done the effects last up to 3 months. I believe they've now brought one out that lasts up to a year, which will obviously be more expensive, but more cost effective in the long run I should imagine.
You can get Defest from the Pet Warehouse in Ossie.
