Christmas comes to early?

Don't know about any of you,but my local supermarket already has the shelves full of Xmas food and stuff, I just think that it's too early. They should make a law, no Christmas stuff till after November  5th?

Caz 28-10-2003 20:16

Re: Christmas comes to early?

And no easter eggs on sale in February either!

Spotted some stuff in a Christmas display the other day. The sell by date on some of the stuff was 28th December! Presumably we're supposed to be stocking up with these.
Bit ridiculous. Who'd normally buy something to eat so close to the sell by date unless they were getting it cheap ???

Re: Christmas comes to early?

Asda have been selling christmas stuff for weeks, they seem to start at about the end of September, way too early. It makes me laugh how everyone goes mad at the supermarket near christmas. I usually come out with no more than I would normally buy, but some people shop like the supermarkets will never be open again. They're only closed for 1 day, it's ridiculous. ;D

Asda christmas stuff was probably last years stock....

Re: Christmas comes to early?

I don't know about you folks it just takes away from the specialness of Christmas...it's all so that folks buy more than they need. ::)
Can't see it being last years stock Tealeaf. ;D

Did you know that tons of food is thrown away every year, because people buy too much when they shop, literally tons, and much of it is unopened.

you have to buy early to avoid the rush at xmas week,it's people like me that make xmas week a menace, because we have forgotten this or forgotten that,we rush out xmas eve to get that present for our kids that sold out the day before!
................and then we go and forget the tin foil to cook the bird(turkey)not my missus! [smiley=cursing.gif]

http://www.noradsanta.org/, this web site is ace for tracking santa, don't know if it's ip and running yet but around the begining of dec it starts to get busy. Christmas eve is excellent, it tracks Santa, when it say's he's in Gander, they run off to bed!

Well never mind the shops!  What about the television?

Adverts and adverts just full of rubbish.

I'm dreading when my little girl is old enough to understand childrens shows never mind the childrens adverts swamping them!

Now that should be banned!  :)

And what on earth has happend to Action Man? I used to love collecting his stuff as a child. Based on the real army equipment and it was good quality too. Now he's some kind of space coyboy with laser guns  ???

Re: Christmas comes to early?

Can we all come to yours for Christmas Harry?  It sounds great.

This is Christmas at my familys.

I come home from work (worked every Christmas day since 1987) Have usually missed the dinner, but my Dad warms it up for me in the microwave. Sit in his dining room and eat it on my own. Go into the lounge and the whole family ( and there's a lot of us) are watching home videos supplied by my dad and we've all seen them before, but everybody but me is too drunk to care. My Granddad is snoring in the chair and my Grandma is complaining about his lack of ability to stay awake. The kids are usually taking turns to have tummy ache, feel sick, be sick! etc. At least one of my step brothers or brother in laws will have a black eye or split lip, from a late night foray into Accy the night before. My mum will have had a drink (and it only takes one) and she will have told the same story at least 4 times. My Step - mum will be washing up and looking totally harassed. My sisters who are 33 and 31 will be the only ones playing with the toys.

Despite this, I never miss calling on the family do after work, but your house sure sounds like fun. :-*
