richard hammond

TOP GEARS RICHARD HAMMOND IS CRITICAL IN LEEDS HOSPITAL apperently he was filming and driving at 280mph when hes car overturned..

hope he pulls through i for one enjoy watching him on tv

WillowTheWhisp 20-09-2006 21:43

Re: richard hammond

I'll second that Cherokee. I enjoy watching him too. I hope he'll be OK.

harwood red 20-09-2006 21:47

Re: richard hammond

I think he is fantastic...they have also said that before the accident he HAD broke the land speed record. But I suppose when you are going at such mega speeds no one can be sure how the car is definitely going to drive and unfortunately it overturned trapping him underneath (as the car had no roof I dread to think of the injuries). :(

Hope to wake up tomorrow to hear he is much improved and no longer in a critical condition.

thoughts with him and his family!!

Re: richard hammond

I like him top gear is more fun with him especially when its richard & james vs clarkson.

Re: richard hammond

news this morn says he is in the neurological dept at the hospital in leeds but thats to be expected when you crash a car at 280mph with no roof on it but the main thing is that he is now stable and not critical as he was last night.

mel3ft 21-09-2006 07:53

Re: richard hammond

hes was trying to set a new world record for fastest speed on land hope hes ok

cherokee 21-09-2006 16:35

Roy 21-09-2006 20:39

Re: richard hammond

I really hope he gets well soon! I must admit I am very envious of him as he has the job that most men would love! I enjoy him on top gear and on all the other shows he has done, he's a likable person and I really feel for him and his family right now! Someone has set up a charity page for the yorkshire air ambulance who got him to hospital so quick, even the bbc are encouraging people to donate to this... the website is http://www.justgiving.com/PHRichardHammond - it makes you realise how the air ambulances are important, yet they don't get proper funding and have to fundraise just to stay in the air!

chav1 21-09-2006 21:08

Re: richard hammond

just read up on it on teh bbc website and am totaly disgusted that the moaning minies are already using his accident as an excuse to call for an end to the show and have top gear axed

ime sure his family are realy concerned with their opinions . NOT !!

ime not too sure how i feel about the fireman jumping infront of anyone with a camera and a microphone to tell everyone the details of hammond either ,in my opinion he shoud have done his job and gone on to teh next job not spend all day infront of TV cameras spilling the details all over the radio and TV of how hammond looked etc

anyway i hope he recovers as fast as he was driving :)

cherokee 21-09-2006 21:13

Re: richard hammond

I have arranged a couple of fundraising events for the northwest air ambulance at blackpool airport in the past, and agree Roy these guys are just as important as our road ambulances , They dont get the funding they deserve and have to rely on people like myself and many others who will raise funds on thier behalf , they do an excellent job and i for one feel lucky that we have one in our region .

Its good to hear he is out of the ICU and I hope they dont can the program. Accidents happen and regardless of what precautions you take you can nevver be 100% sure nothing will go wrong.

cherokee 22-09-2006 22:17

Re: richard hammond

well according to his co presenter james they actually had a bit of a conversation with him so it looks good

SPUGGIE J 22-09-2006 22:43

The convo would have been around teeth whitening. :D The show wont be the same without the three of them together on it.

well accordin to news they ve postponed top gear for a while
not too long i hope

WillowTheWhisp 24-09-2006 14:00

Re: richard hammond

I'm sure once he gets up and about he's the sort of person to tell them to get the flippin show back on.

The fact that he pottered to the loo after less than 36 hours is a good sign surely? Mimi was longer than that before she was able to and to look at her now you'd never know.

THE BBC may screen the crash which nearly killed Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond.

Is this right or wrong. Whats your view?

I'm happy they are to show it but I'm even more happy that he will be around to see it!

WillowTheWhisp 07-10-2006 17:44

Re: richard hammond

If Richard Hammond is in favour of them showing it I think that is what matters. I'm not sure I'd want to watch it but perhaps it will put a stop to all the people gong on about boy racers because this was a jet powered car, not the sort of thing you're likely to come across on the M65.

SPUGGIE J 07-10-2006 17:58

Re: richard hammond

Let it be shown. If Auntie Beeb can show some of the horiffic incedents she does then why not this? On that note put it post watershed then there should (in theory that is) be less hassle and complaints.

The final say is hamsters and Hamsters alone!!!!
