Stephen Fry programme last night

Just as the Stephen Fry programme was about to start last night someone rang me and stayed on the phone for 71 minutes so I missed every word. Did anyone tape it (the programme not the phone conversation) and can you lend it to me please?

I though you ladies could multi task. Watching TV and talking on the phone should be easy for you. Do you time all your phone calls?

Sorry Gayle, just to rub it in I did watch it and it was a most interesting programme, but I didn't record it.
:)

I like to give important phone calls my full attention! ;) And no, I don't deliberately time all my calls, my phone flashes up the time a call has taken immediately after hanging up - as it was rather a marathon call I thought it worth looking to see how long it had taken.

And as for you Less - thanks mate, very helpful.

Was it Graham asking you for details of self-defence classes?

Why would he need self defence classes? Have you met Doug?

Never even seen him. Why?

Lets just say I don't think Graham would have been worried.

...'Owd on. If you are reasonably intelligent, you don't invite anyone outside for a bunfight unless a) you are confident of winning or b) you're drunk or c) by some logic you're trying to impress a girlfriend/boyfriend. So which category does Cllr Hayes fall into?

The first part of your sentence covers it, If you are reasonably intelligent.

So our very own pugilistic councillor, could be covered by all of the above or even be legally sectioned in his own little category

d) [To be filled in later when he stops foaming at the mouth and can be allowed something as sharp as a wax crayon to write with.]

or d) He has forgotten that he has got to old for such silly goings on.

He should try to remember to conduct himself in a manner expected by those who voted for him.

I think this thread has got mixed up with Tealeaf's other one.

This thread is about Gayle spending 71 minutes flirting on the phone last night to an unknown person who's rivetting conversation must have blinded her from the TV.

Actually, I thought it may have been C).....trying to impress Cllr Britcliffe. What is the old phrase about '...no greater glory than laying down your life..'

Either that, or trying to stay awake whilst someone prattled on for over an hour.

Just bringing it back from the thread wander for a brief moment - like Less I watched, but like Gayle I was also distracted. In my case it was by kids coming home. Like Less I also did not record it but the bits I did get to see/hear were very interesting.

Hardly worth recapturing the subject was it cos I'm no help whatsoever!
:D

I missed it too and didn't record it, as I was kidnapped by my neighbours, who fed me lobster and Drambuie outside whilst listening to the geese.

I find it hard to believe you were not doing more than 50% of the talking.

I don't know why she's complaing.

They get paid a fortune for answering those premium rate numbers.

If she was a bit more inventive I'm sure she could have 'got him off' the phone earlier, and watched the programme.:D

How do you know it was a man? It could just as easily have been a woman. Gayle's initial post doesn't give much away.
