Mind you - I did get some artwork in a Dr. Who book once so that mustn't have been too bad! :D
Here's a pencil sketch I did of singer Dobie Gray umpty million years ago. Unfortunately some well meaning person cut it out from the background so it looks a but weird round the edges. http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/a...1&d=1159572287 |
Re: Old versus new technologies.
That ain't at all bad Willow.
Who is Dobie Gray though? |

Re: Old versus new technologies.
Right. It's a very good likeness then. Did you draw it free hand, or work from a photograph of him posed like you drew him?
(I'll get told off for wandering in my own thread. I should start a Rindy's Vision On thread.:)) |
Re: Old versus new technologies.
I did it from an album cover.

Re: Old versus new technologies.
One of my favourites:
Drift Away DOBIE GRAY Day after day I'm more confused So I look for the light in the pouring rain You know that's a game that I hate to lose I'm feelin' the strain, ain't it a shame Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away Beginning to think that I'm wastin' time I don't understand the things I do The world outside looks so unkind I'm countin' on you to carry me through And when my mind is free You know a melody can move me And when I'm feelin' blue The guitar's comin' through to soothe me Thanks for the joy that you've given me I want you to know I believe in your song Rhythm and rhyme and harmony You help me along makin' me strong Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away |
Re: Old versus new technologies.
You go Willow, I grew up on that music! He had a unique way of singing!

Re: Old versus new technologies.
Oooh sorry for thread wandering from your thread wander Rindy but I think I've found a fellow Dobie Gray fan! :) Do you know "Roll On Sweet Mississippi" LYY? I've never even seen the flippin Mississippi but I get all sentimental over that song
Roll on sweet Mississippi wash the faces of your sons And bathe them in that golden Delta sun (delta sun) And fill them with the spirit for which Dixie heroes died Roll on sweet Mississippi, deep and wide. Be honest LYY - would you have recognised him from the sketch? :D |

Re: Old versus new technologies.
Just a quick question Rindy, have you thought of getting your signiture made into a stamp then when you need to sign you can just use the stamp alot easier when you have parkies!
A lady once used it to sign her things in the shop eg: cheque or bank transaction slip! Just a thought for you. :-) |
