Crash on bend to Green Howarth
Just been & done my neighbourhood nosey :D Theres been a crash about just an hour ago very top end of willows lane on the blind bend apparently speeding about 60/70mph swerevd to avoid oncoming car, smashed right into a parked residents car narrowing missing a man who had got out of his parked car slightly further down - knocked the car out to middle of the road & the speeding car ended right up the other car owners drive !!!
Police are rather bemused as to the little traffic calming measures on the bend from top of willows lane blind sharp bend to green howarth school heading towards shoulder of mutton, cars are forever speeding up & down there. The firemen said it was so lucky that it happened just before the kids came out of school or else it could of been something even more worse!!! & my kids cross that road home:eek: |

Re: Crash on bend to Green Howarth
Allway’s a bit dodgy up there. I remember coming down on a push bike with no brakes, I had lent it my mate Ivor Lloyd who had taken the blocks off to stop people nicking it. I hit the grass bank 20 yards short of Bedlam (there was a small gap in the wall) I remember thinking “oh hell” and then departing the bike at high speed. I hit the ground on my back p***ing myself laughing, then the pain came…..oh hell “I thought”
Nealy forty years later I had to brake to avoid an on coming car who was traveling at speed. |
