Its not like anything else is going on that needs the attention of our elected leaders, (both parties)
It seems we need legislation requiring spaying and neutering for anyone we send to D.C.



managed to catch the movie "Thank you for not smoking" this weekend well worth the rental , shows Washington DC at its best , Jimmy Stewart its not

Any idealism they may have when we first send them up there is soon knocked out of them. That said, I must say, I do have an excellent congressman here. He isn't in the Washington "bubble". Comes home to the district every weekend and is very accessible and responsive to the people he represents. If you go by Nathan's house he's usually mowing the lawn or some such chore. Refreshing.

Our district in California is so gerrymandered that my un-incorporated community 20 miles down I 580 is in the Oakland Ca. congressional district, Fienstein is ok, (but I have reservations about her hubby being the number 1 private banker in the Peoples republic of China) but you can have Barbara Boxer and her teamster lawyer husband .
Arnold is doing OK , about 17 pts up, and should be re-elected next month, most folks think he a counter-balance to a one sided State house, just wish he would find a way to speed up the guys at San Quinten

ok, Willow let me see if I get this right , years ago the politicians in Washington used to employ the youngsters from the local orphanage to run messages from one place to another , (bit like telegram boys) over the years the system changed and it was thought to be a good idea to use regular kids from around the country to give them an insight how the Federal Govt worked , So now we have politicians from around the country sponsoring 16/17/18 yr olds for a year in Washington from their home districts,
Well politicians being the morally bankrupt creatures that they are, a few of them over the years have taken a fancy to these nubile youths , and kids being kids and away from home for the first time have sometimes exploited the situation, The recent 'scandal' now going on in Washington this time involves a politican from the Republican party (the holier than thou types) and some tawdry emails between him and some of these youngsters, to date I don't think there have been any accusations of under-age sex or of 'messing' with kids . The politician involved has resigned and gone into a drying out clinic (it was the devil in the bottle that made him do it)
One thing to note , we are having national elections in about 30 days for the House and Senate (unfortunatly not for President, thats another 2 years) so both partys are playing it up big time , one person who we have have yet to hear from is the Senator from NewYork, Hillary(stand by your man) Clinton ,

I had to read the article twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things, that business is bad enough here, my lord it must be true what's said about the coldness of american females!
