The Evil Clock

I'd just like to know if anybody else things that hideous clock in the Arndale Centre should be removed??

It genuinly frightens the local children and I have wet myself repeatedly after watching it.

The clock in the Arndale isnīt that bad, and it is one of the very few thing that isnīt dull and boring about the place. One word of advice though. If you repeatedly wet yourself watching it, seek medical help.

I think the clock should stay, and you should urgently seek medical adice.

Er, yes. I know.

I was merely adding my comment to the thread a little later than most, not being lucky enough to have been a member in those halcyon days on AW.

There is now a job specialisation within the IT industry which goes under the name of 'Data Mining'. I think you should give it a try. You would look very good around Ossy with a pit helmet and a pony in tow.

I prefer being pithy to pity.

Plus it's hard getting any helmet big enough to fit my head.

;)

So that's what you did in the black out.

Polished your helmet.

Nah...I picked it up a few years ago when they were finally rebuilding on a V2 site here in the East End. I only started polishing it up about 3 months ago when I was sat here reading your postings on this website. I needed a little bit of intellectual stimulation.

Don't worry, like my earlier resurrection, and sticking with the WW II theme, one Yank and they'll be off.

Work still short on the ground for you?

Hope it picks up soon.

Yes, but you, like Rula Lenska, were worth it, and you looked as pleased as Punch when you first slipped into it, before going off to fleece a few farthings from some unsuspecting tourists.

This is rather fun, let's pick another innocent thread from years ago and bring it back to life.

I always liked that one about the calendars....

That's not old!

That comes back to life every year, when a new calendar comes through our letter boxes.

:D

Rula who? Is this the Russkie dog blasted into space back in 1959 or whenever? Whats's this to do with the Arndale Clock?

And I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it. Just remind us of what we can look forward to - you still got a scan of the last issue?

Actually, 'issue' isn't a bad euphemism as the calendar is about as good as a bag of said emission.....

Your wish is my command.

The 'Toby jug' calendar, my favourite, you can have thrown in.

Two for the price of one.

That's good value, after all.

:rolleyes::D

So, unlike the thread starter, the clock never scared you, and made you do a little wee outside Ethel Austin?
