Shifters
 

Does anyone remember Shifters? I used to go in there when I first started drinking (ahem long before I was legally allowed sshhh!) I was wondering if anyon ehad any fond memories. (Or hazey ones!!)
For those who can't quite remember, it was where Boots is now at the entrance to the Arndale.
I also have a faint memory of a vast car park and some  public loos on Union Street before Arndale was built. I'm only 28, have I dreamt this??

Spent many a drunken and debauched night in the shifters with my sisters and friends. Once fell all the way down the stairs from the second floor with a half pint of Strongbow in my hand and didn't spill a drop. Wednesdays used to be half price drinks night, so we were there every week. Once grabbed a lad by the bollocks, squeezed hard and marched him off the dancefloor for pinching my bum, when I'd asked him to stop. Needless to say, he didn't do it again.

God that brings back memories, don't think I went very often, but I remember being there once or twice when I was about 15 (15 years ago). My God, Lee, if I was 15, you must have been a REAL underage drinker?? 12 or 13 years old? I think shifters shut when I was 16 or 17!

i remember shifters when i was 14 angie was 16 dancing round our hangbags  :P

remeber it well, had some good nights in, and afternoons. was 15 i think, worked on market boss used to take us in for lunch
