And this is very true. You can't walk down the street without seeing someone who really should move to Burnley with the rest of the dingles.

Its not just me that call you lot the dingles lol. I deliver round burnley and alot of people i deal with are either slow/thick or in need of a wash. Im not saying its EVERY person from burnley, some are very nice. From the fact you can spell burnley its clear you are one of the last group. Sorry to anyone else from burnley but everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. Cue bad karma

Pleeeze, will some one explain to me WHAT EXACTLY IS A CHAV ?? my grandaughter (who has leanings to the Goth look and seemingly arch-enemies of such a sect) has attempted to explain this phenomena of grouping to me, but they just appear to look like down and out sloppy teenagers in tracky bottoms, dirty trainers and baseball hats to cover their unwashed hair

You got it hun, though the boy's may have accessorised by having a butch dog on a chain, and the girl's might have a baby in a pram, wearing a matching baseball cap.

Yeh, but what do they do ?? Nowt much, is that the answer? what are their policies? who is their leader? what is their goal in life ? .. still confused

WillowTheWhisp 10-11-2006 23:53

Re: Accrington explained...

Burberry usually features somewhere and the baby is usually called Kandeese or Courtnee.

They have no goal in life, but they do have plenty of bling.

What's bling ? .. I can't keep up .. well, I'm off to bed and demand a full analysis by morning, as there are plenty on here who knock these 'Chavs' and I wish to know more about them so that I can be forearmed so to speak :D

Bling is ya cheap gold, n lots of it. Like a rapper's real bling, only 9ct and paste glass instead of diamonds.

Lol Silvermain, now I am really being educated :D That lad is something else !

Surely, just the extreme though ..maybe, lots of kids who dress like this, only wish to be thought of like this, and are not really like this, again the comfort of being in 'a gang'

I wear lots of 'bling' then .. just love all the cheap jewellery about now, better than pretentious real gold chains, rings etc .. that really turns me off a fella.

So .. what is the difference between a Chav and a Townie then ?

garinda 11-11-2006 11:46

Re: Accrington explained...

Chav/townie/ned/shemie are all the same, it's just that the name Chav has become the most popular.

No, some pursue successful careers as dealers, or win the lottery.:D

everything you need to know about chavs

Chav of the Month

katex 11-11-2006 19:34

Re: Accrington explained...

Well, I failed miserably, think they were all inside due to the weather, and didn't fancy the rain dripping off their baseball caps onto the trainers.

Although, 'I-spyed' :_

1) Trackie bottoms and clean trainers .... 1 point
2) Trackie bottoms and dirty trainers .... 2 points
3) Trackie bottoms and felt-like zip up garment over baseball cap (is this a hoody?) ... 3 points
4) Trackie bottoms, dirty trainers, and red baseball cap .. 4 points.

Have yet to get the ultimate of 10 as described by Garinda in above post.
Will persevere... :D
