Frazer Eagle Cars

 Whats going on there then? Frazer Eagle have the building that used to be Perrys on Milnshaw Lane and have erected a sign saying Frazer Eagle Cars. What's it going to be car hire, chauffeur, taxi's or have they branched out into car sales? Anyone know?

Re: Frazer Eagle Cars

I saw that a week or so ago, I reckon they are getting into sales.

Re: Frazer Eagle Cars

You could be right entwisi but I was thinking it is quite possible for them to openng some form of taxi type thing. They have the garage for in car maintenance and the forecourts for off street parking and also a lot of business would go their with via feeder taxi's for their coachs.

Sure someone will nowfor def. :)

Re: Frazer Eagle Cars

There main call centre offices are at Simonstone now (or they were not so long ago). They did have offices at Globe Centre Hyndburn Homes have taken over them now. Their coaches were kept on the industrail units behind Blackburn Rd West End Ossy near the 20 steps not sure if they are still there.

Re: Frazer Eagle Cars

I think Busman knows where they garage the coaches. They've come a long way since they were "Frasers" and did day trips to Blackpool etc from Water Street.

Is it Frazer with an 's' .... Fraser :o It's only since the edit buttons gone I can see how many typos and spelling errors I make! :(

I went past there this morning and noticed a car hire firm had set up. Didn't notice the name cos I was nearly past when I noticed the cars lol.

If it's FE would it not be obvious, they will have taken the roof off the showroom :D

Car Hire  Now that does surprise me! I didn't think there'd be a need for such a business. Oh well they have become so successful by making bad business decisions, they must know what they're doing.

Yeah that's the kind of thing I thought they'd be doing. That makes sense.

They now have their coaches at an industrial unit in Padiham, the nameof which escapes me.We went away with them last year, and had to be transferred by one of their cars to Padiham to board the coach. The driver was telling us quite a few thousand was going to be invested in this site.

False alarm on my part. The one I was on about isn't Milnshaw Lane. ( I am excused for not knowing the street names cos I not moved yet :D )

The one I'm on about is the road that runs past Asda, was it a BMW showroom, across from the school.

Yeah that's the Bowker BMW place isn't it?

Still not sure why Accy needs a car hire place though. I thought they were only really needed in cities that had an airport.

I use Speedy Car Hire near the police station when I need to hire a car if mine breaks down.

Yeah I suppose  I hadn't thought of that one. I just thought most people used a courtesy car if there's was in for repairs. Surely the cost of a car hire will be roughly the same as hiring a courtesy car.

WillowTheWhisp 14-11-2006 17:34

Re: Frazer Eagle Cars

You used to be able to hire them from the Peugeot garage. A friend of ours who can drive but usually cycles everywhere used to hire a car for holidays with the family. We've hired vans sometimes to help people with house moves.

Before Frasers merged with Eagle, Eagle were based in Dale Street Ossy and were owned by a chap called Albert Benson, He called his firm Eagle because when he first started he kept is small coach in a garage on Eagle Street of New Lane Ossy. I actually live on Eagle Street in the late sixties and in fact helped to pull that garage down as it had become danerous.

The place on Milnshaw lane - Fraser cars - is going to be quality used car sales, servicing and repairs according to their website
The Clock garage (BMW) has had a sign in the window for a few weeks now saying it is going to open as Arnold Clarke's they own what used to be Central car sales, I think it mentioned it was gonna be their service centre but they also do car and van hire so will probably host both.
