HOW NOT TO GET A SPEEDING FINE

Firstly, you need to be a cop called PC Stephen Akrill,
You need to be driving a marked Police Land Rover
You also must be on your way to collect a pre-ordered chinese meal:cool:

.............He was on his way to pick up the meal in the Land Rover (which should only be used for Police purposes) and heard about an incident over the radio. He increased his speed to assist - - - but after being "flashed" by a speed camera, he realised that his presence was not required at the incident so slowed down and continued to the "Take-Away" Thats what he told the courts but...................

1) He was not authorised to attend the incident

2) He did not radio in that he was available and on his way,

3) He did not turn on his blue emergency lights.

4) He took a route through the suburbs when a faster motorway route was available

Wasn't he fortunate that when he decided not to attend, he was just 100 metres from the Chinese Take-Away. :rolleyes:

He was originally prosecuted because of "overwhelming" evidence but the judge dismissed the case saying that he believed PC Akrills account and added "In my view, the officer gave his evidence in almost disarming honesty"

PC Akrill added after the case that for him, it was a sweet and sour experience................glad someone found the story humerous:mad:

I think they call it 'closing ranks' busman, even the judges and solicitors think twice, less the 'dirt' is dug on themselves and they end up with something more serious than a mere speeding ticket.

i dont see it as much these days because ime not around in teh morning as much but it was a regular sight to see cops speeding back to teh station because it wa coming to the end of their shift

only people exempt from speeding should be officers in pursuit or to a crime like an intruder or somthing and fire and ambulance services, also would like to see part tiem firemen be exempt because they have to drive to teh fire station from home and teh quicker they get the fire station teh quicker they get to the fire

this copper shoulda got his fine and points like everyone else

whilst agreeing it aint right, perhaps he might also claim perks of the job, same as most industries have. but is anybody surprised?;)

This incident shows the judiciary and the police force to be just as corrupt as every other level of society. In short, a boys' own private club!
