British Law Undermined???
 

Browsing through Jeremy Vine’s message board I came across a topic that was totally new to me but I wasn’t really surprised by it.

In a nutshell there are today, ethnic and religious courts in parallel with British courts and with the blessing of British law.

To quote from the above link;

As well as Somali customary law, Islamic and Jewish laws are being applied and enforced in parts of the UK. Islamic and Jewish law remains confined to civil matters. But the BBC's Law in Action programme has learned that the Somali court hears criminal cases too.”

Should we the incumbents of these sceptred isles be worried by this growing trend?

It is unlikely to affect me personally being as I am in my twilight years but I am concerned for my progeny.

How long before these ethnic courts, particularly an Islamic court, clashes with British law and comes out on top?

a head police officer was slated in birmingham when teh riots were on because he said we can not enforce the law in some muslim comuinities because they ignore it and run themselves by their own laws

no matter what ethnic background you are from british law shoudl apply and if it is been ignored then send military police into those areas to make sure it is enforced or simply extrodite people to countries where they have laws that they want to follow

if i wander into one of these areas and break one of their laws that isnt illigal by english law do i get sent to prison ?


mind you jeremy vine is a half wit and has about half teh credability of jerry springer so i can expect that on his show he sesationalised the issue just to get the crowd cheering
