What has happened here ,? hey I know roy is away but come on we have alternaatives ,when he gets back i am sure he,ll sort it , the chatroom is BW at mo, but everyone is off here so early these days , come on guys , support it dont let it go down just cus we,re on a temp site, sorry if im just being paronoid but this site seems to die about midnight , never used to be like this.

I have to agree Cherokee!! When the site was at it's best I couldn't wait to get onto Accyweb.............different story now. I finish work, turn comp on, click on Accyweb, read the dozen or so NEW POSTS then turn it back off.


I really hope this isn't the end of this site, but have to admit......I find it boring recently.:( I don't think Newbies will be drawn to the site like they used to be.

Hmmm, I think I know were your coming from. Maybe we could all put our heads together to see what's changed. I think the thing that's most affected the chatroom crew is having 2 chatrooms. Both Neal and Cyfr have both been kind enough to run one but no-one knows who's were and there isn't the same chance for the non-regulars to pop in for a quick chat. I'd just like to thank the Belgians again for that! :mad:

:D I tried cyfrs room but couldnt get access (no offence cyfr) dont know why ? so tend to stick to BW but think its great that we have folk trying to keep us together while roy gets back , but as slinky said just at mo it seems to have lost its sparkle .
But hey I think if we hang in we,ll kick them belgians where it hurts, us northerners are stronger than that.:D

I suppose aswell it depends on your reasons for being on accyweb in the first place. Some might think it's better now than it's ever been. I just come on for entertainment so I did use to post things just for a re-action but I think people are used to me now, there's not the same banter lol!

A short while after I joined Accy Web, about eighteen months ago, someone accused this forum of racism. As someone who on long sleepless night had read nearly every thread ever posted here, I vehemently defended this forum against that charge. Sadly I couldn't defend it today, as racist posts are quite often seen on here.

Throw in nasty personal attacks on other memebers, combined with threads that quickly turn into chats, that would be better conducted on MSN messenger, we have the sorry state of affairs that we have today.

Gone are the days of lively debate, mixed in with genuienly funny threads, that all combined to make this forum a world wide and local extended family.

I don't know what the answer is. I still come here, but mainly now post in other forums, were the policing by the moderators, but more importantly the other members, doesn't let prejudice, trolling, and hatred get in the way of fun or lively debate.

I hope it evolves out of the doldrums it currently is in, and that some of the interesting people who have left come back, as well as the forum being a place that is self policed against anyone who is a bully, racist, or just plain nasty, once more.

Actually I logged off to play the Global Trivia quiz so I can have a lie in tomorrow, as well as post on another forum.

What I did in this thread was voice my opinion, as to why I think this forum has gone quiet. No more, no less, and certainly didn't name names, but if anyone thinks the cap fits so be it.;)

Hmm, goes back to my orignal post of why it may be quiet recently. (still PMT free :) ) I agree some people may not like wading through the natural course of a conversion on a message board but I don't agree with all the slapping each other on the back in agreeance whether you agree or or not (hence my post about disagreeing for a re-action) ....... If thats your opinion then post it thats what makes accyweb the best local forum around :)
