Council paper recycling scheme
 
just a quick question about this scheme where the council picks up ur waste paper for recycling

what are the council doing to prevent identity theft?

i mean ok some ppl are still fairly unaware of this phenom and if they're putting in any bills/statements etc into this without shredding it how are hte council making sure no one is getting hold of these letters etc once they take them away...

I think the council would say thats your own responsability to ensure all personal details are kept that ..... personal.

I agree, its your own responsibility to make sure you don't put owt of use in there

still it would be nice to hear the council say it was all shredded just to be sure

Considering it all goes in with piles of newspapers I really can't see the council taking time to shred it all. Presumably it is eventually pulped for recycling. It's people's own responsibility though to make sure their own name and address etc is torn or shredded.

why should the council do owt to prevent identity theft? if some people are still unaware of the phenonemum then they must be hermits or exceedingly dim! i for one will happily slag HBC off for their shortcomings of which there are quite a few, but identity theft- sorry NO WAY.
