Curds and Whey

It seems that a grim legal first has killed Bowland Dairies in Nelson. Just ran across an item on www.eureferendumblogspot.com (second article down on page). In short, the EU strikes again! I wasn't able to pull up the links to the Telegraph.....but the link to the Lords Hansard text is fine and explains the situation pretty well.

This is so sad. Comments, please.

As usual though some faceless Europrat has destroyed a local business.

Whoops. I missed a dot. Sorry. Try this - www.eureferendum.blogspot.com The item in question will undoubtedly be well down the page by now. I was just wondering if any of you had any more information on the fate of this company.

There was an article in the Nelson leader which is the local paper there.

antibiotics, dyes, detergents and "floor waste"

What kind of floor waste are we looking at ?????

Re: Curds and Whey

I would guess it's stuff that falls on the floor when they are making the cheese and they throw it back in. Compared to most mass produced cheese these days thats probably what gave it some taste :D

FPMSL ....

Was wondering cause when i worked at our local big supermarket, i was asked on xmas eve day if i fancied helping out in the bakery to get more mince pies cooked and out onto the shop floor ! i couldnt believe what i was seeing when i saw mouse traps all over the place :(

p.s. ... did you know when it says "Freshly Baked In Store Today" ... what it actually means is that they come into the store Frozen and they are baked through in the store.

Thanks for the link, Lancsdave. No-one appears to have been harmed by eating this cheese so the EU should bow out.
