Claiming Bank Charges
Has anyone on here claimed their charges back from their bank? I went through the trouble of calculating all my charges over the past 6 years and even completed and printed off the letter from http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi...41050760,24632, but I haven't done anything with it because I don't have a bank account with anyone else, so I'd be stuffed it they decided to close my account. (Which moneysavingexpert say would be very likely to happen).
So I just wondered if anyone had took further action than me and if you had succeeded? |

Re: Claiming Bank Charges
I know what you mean about the advice given that the bank can close your account and ME.C DOES ADVISE YOU TO OPEN ANOTHER ACCOUNT . And if you can then you should .. These banks have been ripping us off for years and its high time we were compensated. I have been charged by them and i could say through no fault of my own but some wouldnt agree ..
But I believe that when a bank knows that you have a regular income going into your account and a DD happens to come out a day or so before your income goes in then IMHO the bank should honour that payment . not charge you for it ... esp when as on the news today it only costs the bank 4 pound and they charge you 40...... ive one or two to claim back myself so good luck mate |
Re: Claiming Bank Charges
I was charged (years ago) for being overdrawn by 15p, the day before pay day. Yorkshire Bank had the audacity to charge me about £15. I went into the bank and spoke to the manager. I demanded my £15 back or I would close my account and move everything to another Bank. They credited my account with the £15 on the same day. I have never been overdrawn since and have not paid any more charges.
My advice would be to open an account with another bank then, go for it.. |
