For anyone who doesn't want to play the guessing game :) I believe this is the opening of the recently refurbished Oaklea.. Presuming it is then yes.. all the best.. looks like a heck of a lot of work gone into it as its been taking shape everytime I drive past.. You should make a killing on boxing day with 1400 bury fans walking past :)

All the best

mick & i attended the preview opening of the oaklea tavern as guests of accyjay & his partener kate tonight, it is lovely inside, still a tad work wants finishing on the outside but the inside is completly different to what it used to be ....i was a bit mesmerised trying to remember how it was .anyway mick has taken some pics of course, the restaurant & family room looks good too, had a look at the menu very reasonable priced it was too the restaurant is open as from tommorrow night ...might take my susan for tea on friday .because there's a pudding i want to try he he.

GOOD LUCK JAY & KATE .

Usual stuff:

Fosters
San Miguel
Kronenbourg
Theakstons mild & Cask
Strongbow cider
Guinness
John Smiths Smooth

We are hoping to get a guest ale, but this won't be until the New Year.

Ah well end of an era - good old malborough, thro the times has been my family's local & many of do's there not forgetting the fact i was nearly born there [darn missed my honourable lifetime membership if i had] typically my birth plan surprise was over & was not to be so held on 4 days later still 6 wks early of course:D, im sure my dad will confirm that lol. I lived a few doors down from it when i left home, so another regular there hehehehehe, i shall miss the owd place.

The photos look great Mick - sadly wont be able to see for myself this saturday, all the best accyjay it looks good & poshed up :D All the best for your new venture & hope no ghosties stirr up with the shock of change hehehehehe:D

Great - we'll probably pop in at lunchtime and give it a go - unless we have to book? Place looks great from the outside by the way - well done & good luck

Drove past today.. The biggest thing is that it no longer looks like a working mans club... I past it a hundred times and never went in presuming it was a club and probably members... Now it looks inviting and you will get more passing trade..

Again..well done :) Certainly going to give it a go for a meal..
