Hope your Christmas was Better then Mine
 

Did I have a good Christmas? Well, no actually. And why not? I had flu.

When I say flu, I don't mean a heavy cold etc., I didn't have a cold at all. It started with a painful throat and a disgusting cough, last Thursday, then the shivering started, then - I zonked. I spent Friday to Monday in bed most of the time, feeling dreadful. My Christmas dinner went in the bin and I couldn't even face a chocolate. It's a long time since I felt quite so ill.

I haven't heard of anyone else with my symptoms, round here, but I can't be the only one. Has the flu bug hit Accrington or have you all been lucky?

Anyway, here's to a happy New Year and Good Health to everyone (and I really mean that).

Ah how awful....what a dreadful way to spend xmas..

well your a bundle of fun west ender,we been out for a family meal this afternoon and paris was in bed at 7-00 feeling just like that,happy new year.;)

Thanks all. I now have that post-flu thingy where going into the next room is a huge effort and I have jelly instead of bones in my legs. I can't sleep at night but I can't stay awake during the day. Feeling very sorry for myself - you'd never guess, would you? ;)

I live in Bury Westender. My wife started on the 23rd with a painful throat, then cough and then chest. she managed to stay upright on xmas day. she was full of lemsip etc. it made it worse when i burned the outside of the turkey and when i came to carve realised that i had cooked the turkey upside down!!! (theres no meat on this thing!) Anyway it was a juicy bird....

my wife is only just starting to get over it and she is hoarse still and knackered
