Re: Lottery

I think the best method of payment would be paypal. It means that everyone could pay towards the syndicate without the host having to visit everyone each week and its easy to setup. I'd be up for it.

Re: Lottery

voted no, when the lottery first came out i did it religiously for a couple of years, for 2 reasons (1) obviously i wanted the money (2) i was naive enough to think that money went/would go to deserving things. by that time i had read or seen on tv some of the STUPID places money was dished out too,so i thought sod it,and have never done it since.

Re: Lottery

We used to spend £4.00pw on the Lottery,to no avail, we now save the money £208per year this more than covers the cost of the tv licence and a meal out.I voted NO purely for personal reasons, I also believe it would be very difficult to collect the weekly payments and could lead to conflict.

If it was to happen it would be better for two people to do it. And to have very strict rules. Id do it but who would trust me lol.

Re: Lottery

I agree that it would be a nightmare to collect the money each week. Imagine if one week someone missed and that week a multi million pound jackpot was won.

Re: Lottery

you could always do it through paypal :D

Re: Lottery

PayPal takes a cut. But more to the point what about the week someone forgets to pay?

Re: Lottery

I voted yes, but thinking about it, it probably wouldn't be a very good idea. Its like Willow said what if theres a week that someone misses?? It would just all get very complicated.

Re: Lottery

What would happen if you regularly put the lottery on and one week forgot and your numbers come up ........ hard luck!! ;)

Re: Lottery

Yes that's fair enough when it's just you personally forgetting to do your own, but supposing there was a technical hitch which prevented the organiser from getting contributions from one or more members one week whichever way collecting was done, and that week the syndicate won. The collector could say "Tough" but the syndicate member might have thought the contribution had gone through, especially if it was an automatic payment. Would it be done just once a week or other days too? How often do you collect? How many lots of numbers would be picked? Who would pick them? The more contributors you had would mean more selections of numbers wouldn't it because each selection only costs £1? Supposing most weeks there were 10 selections for instance but one week only £9 collected so only 9 selections could be made. Who decides which group of numbers wouldn't go in that week? And what if THAT SELECTION WAS THE JACKPOT WINNER????? Some poor soul would shoulder the blame for deselecting the wrong lot!

Re: Lottery

I think it would be a nightmare trying to organise it on here, I play the lottery online much easier than queuing to buy a ticket, won a tenner on Saturday first time in months!
