One advantage the computer has over the CB, and I loved mine (pulled loads in those days) is the webcam, at least you can have a look at what you mighn't wake up with. Remember that Waylon Jennings song, "I never went to bed with an ugly woman but I sure woke up with a few".:D Best handle I ever handled was 'Black Sugar' from Clayton.

I would sometimes forget the old Cobra was still switched to 10 watts and set one of the neighbours house alarms of as soon as I keyed the mike. Funny for me - yes, at 3am funny for them - probably not :D :D :D

How else could you spend all night driving around in a car scrounging brews of nice sounding young ladies only to find they are minging old slappers when you get there?

There were of course one or two exceptions (my wife included of course) that I best not mention on here   :D

hee hee, times were fun. 4% of the users when I were on were very nice, attractive ladies. Didn't mind a brew from them!

When and who are you talking about? I used to get over to Burnley quite often. I lived their for a few years as well.

God, I can't remember now. The fun times were when I was 14 - 19 years of age, it's naff now.

I was living in Burnley about then.

I still have a few radios lying about, a Cobra 148 gtl dx fm and a couple of Hygain 5's ( I used to be a saddo who wrote my own eproms to add uk 40 to the sideband rigs and a few other tweaks as well ;)). Probably a couple of straight 40 and an 80 channel as well.

I think I’ve said this before in another thread about CB’s but my handle back in the pre 1984, or was it 82 not sure, was Rocking Robin from hanky town. :o

It is a co-incidence thou, how most of the ex CBers from those days now find them selves using forums, communications by one means or another must be Iin our blood. :D

Who was plant-pot with his powerful leson desk mike? he was very clean and green. hehe
