IF this story has any truth, the poor old bird was probably just looking after the business and had no or little idea of the "Mafia" on-goings.

Is it really surprising? The 'honest' way in life these days will just get you in a mountain of debt & the bourgeoisie will keep you there until the day you die.
I'm not saying it's right but it's a tempting way to go in this day and age.

Money laudering (SP) is a serious offence and im sure if she was getting large sums of money for her to 'play with' she had an idea where it come from.
