I'm in a bad mood!!!

I have my milk delivered - too lazy to go to the shop! Its handy and its there when i get up - or so i thought. My milkman delivers to me on monday, wednesday and friday - he leaves double on fridays to see me through the weekend. Sometimes though he does only leave normal on friday and then delivers on saturdays - not often but he does from time to time. Anyway yesterday got up and went to bring the milk in - and no milk so thought oh he'll be leaving it saturday. I had enough anyway to keep me going. Today i got up and went to bring the milk in - no milk. Didnt have time to ring him up and so when i got back i rang him up. He told me he'd delivered yesterday - so someone has nicked my milk from my doorstep yesterday morning 2 pints. So thats why im in a bad mood. I may guess who it could be because i dont have many people coming to my door. But why should people nick milk off my doorstep - can they not afford the 35p well get it right - its 2 pints so 70p - from the shop if they are short of milk or the garage - mind you its more expensive from there.

i buy milk in cartons from morrisons, its a lot easier and lasts me all week :D

I know its annoying but its probably kids having a laugh (well a laugh to them) when we used to have milk delivered it happened all the time I think thats why we stopped.

its a known fact that milk DOES NOT quench the thirst young man, it causes you to get crap on your chest (the nasty stuff you cough up)

Even if they were chav - the shop opens across the road at 5.30am and its open to 9pm or the garage is open 24 hours a day.

I'd have 2 bus rides to get to morrisons flashy and then have to cart it back from Blackburn!

ya daft ******, you can buy it anywhere not just morrisons, th'asda do it, so do most corner shops ;)

Sorry for your frustration Jen, It's gotta be so annoying for ya. I agree with Grego probably kids goofing around.

Can you set up some type of quaint trap for them. I don't mean a bear trap with those pointy sticks at the bottom . . . Hmm, then again, would solve the problem but you might lose the mailman and milkman also but I digress.

I was thinking stringy bells or empty cans across your walkway. Something that'll scare the bejesus out of em. Can you borrow a "pitbull" type of dog?:D For added significance, when the trap is rattled, shoot the little buggers in the butt with a bb gun.:D

Hope I gotcha to smile a little bit? No use crying over loss milk!

Its a service that is as rare as rocking horse poo is a milk delivery service round here. I have 2 Spar stores within 10 mins of me and the local shop is 2 mins away. Kids may think its fun but at the end of the day its still theft.

Duncan are you saying that you never did this as a kid, I know I did once or twice, just thought it was funny, of course now I'm grown up;) I dont see the funny side at all.

I had a little job delivering milk so getting milk wasnt a problem. :p

I didnt drink a lot of milk as a kid but now I proberly drink to much. :o

Just thinking of milk being delivered in bottles brings back memories. I believe we had our last deliveries when I was a kid up un New England. That was probably around 1965ish.

Other USers please correct me but I don't know of anywhere that milk is still delivered like that.

I could see my big brother and his friends nicking a bottle or two from neighbors and putting em in there mailbox. So there was mischief and annoyance for the home owner but even they probably had a giggle out of it.

Now the wicked witch old lady who lived next door. Not sure they'd a been that nice about it.:rolleyes:

One of my neighbours still gets milk delivered in bottles, old style milk float as well.

I could remember when i used to have me milk delivered, and the odd one used to disapear!:( , or I would have holes in the lid!!:eek: , found it was some cheeky bloody magpie pecking at me milk, wonder if it was the cheeky buggers who stole it too...lol....maybe a bit too heavy for them:rolleyes:

jen buy an extra pint of milk and leave it on the doorstep for teh theives but before you do that carefuly remove the top and add urine ;)

I was thinking about getting an extra bottle leaving it out for about a week and then sticking it out............... :D

I knew a milk thief once who made even Jade Goody look intelligent. He'd been stealing from the neighbours for ages. No-one knew who it was but everyone's milk had disappeared at various times. One nice young lad had been going and getting extra bottles for people and of course they would pay him a few pence extra as well as the price of the milk. Then one morning there'd been a crisp new fall of snow following the milk delivery and in it there was just one set of footprints going to each doorstep and then back to the lad's flat - where he had a fridge FULL of milk. That was one day they were not prepared to buy their own milk back again!!! :D
