AccyWeb

Iīm not quite sure what has happened to this site. Up to about three months ago it was the first thing I checked onto every morning. Now all I see is folk wanting to sell things and naff quizes, apart from Melīs that is!

Where did all the good stuff go? Family history, good debates, Rindyīs trip down the park?

I do realise that the photo comp is out of the question at the moment but I really miss that too.

Come on, we need to buck up x

Re: AccyWeb

If I have time I'll try to do a spot the difference or something next week.

Maybe people got discouraged at being criticised for complaining about the council.

I do keep meaning to go and photograph that totem pole but never seem to get round to it. Tomorrow is a busy day, business meeting in the afternoon and school parents' evening later on.

Re: AccyWeb

Sometimes I think Accy Web is going through the doldrums, but perhaps it's just that at that particular times there are no debates that interest me.

In the last couple of weeks, I remember getting hot under the collar about lots of the threads on here. We've had everything from dangerous dogs, to what is racist bullying, as opposed to just bullying, and a very intersting thread about our MP, amongst others.

I remarked just last the weekend, that I think the interest of the debate on here has perked up recently.

I can understand how people are missing the gallery, and photographic competitions, but I have no complaints about the threads not being interesting, and am pleased we have some new members not afraid to voice their opinion.

Re: AccyWeb

I agree june with whats been said I personally only join in serious discussions that interest me or i can relate too mainly because there are a lot of debates going on that i niether have interest in or i haven got an opinion on it and same goes with certain members some might be to intense for me so i stay away from those threads . but i do still think thes quite a good mix on here at the moment , who knows next week i may come on and not find anything i want to join into and just stick to the silly threads ...swings and roundabouts on here ..

Like we discussed by accident on 'anything goes', some of the threads are in the wrong place in my opinion, i.e. the Jade incident on 'Big Brother'.

Re: AccyWeb

I usually check 'new posts' so it doesn't even dawn on me half the time what section a thread is in - if it looks like an interesting debate I dive in with my two pennorth anyway.

Like a few have said, different things interest different people and there have been times when I've logged on, had a look, thought 'nope nowt there I an to comment on' and logged off again. Other times there seem to be so many things that interest me I'm overwhelmed by the abundance of joinworthy* threads.

Sometimes a dose of the doldrums can be good. At the end of the day without it we could end up with a site on the par with a daily rag.

I usually take a few days break when I feel disenchanted with accyweb then find I've missed loads lol!

I havent been around for long, but I like this site as its local and discusses (SP) local issues.

The debates I have witnessed so far seem to be good with the, subjects, sarcasm, whit, ect and good alround individul opinions. Thats what makes a forum IMO.

I though most people on here had a think skin for that type of thing.:D

I will keep visiting and if its dead at the moment well things can only get better for me.:)

The only thing that is slightly off-putting, is that there are so many thread wanders recently.

I agree chav. What's that all about? Do ya think it has to do with global warming or the over abundance of other cultures negative influence on the cheese market?

I must admit to having had a brandy last night and, on reflection, my post was a bit unfair. I fully expected to get a real slating today.

Sorry mates xx

I think this is a first class forum and would always recommend it.... its going to be slow from time to time:
Oh the whole its well run and well moderated: and even the family can join in ( should I let them near the PC)

Keep up the good work ladies and gents...

I think we should have hours of dispensation for editing threads ... say between 12 midnight and 9 a.m. to allow for alcohol to wear off so that we can re-think our posts. After all, mods have done it ...
