no you aint lindsay, everybody at some point gets CRAP in their life,some worse than others,but they get it nontheless, its how you wade through it that is the key. wish you best of luck.

There is one advantage to being on the bottom and that is there is only one way to go and that is up. Imagine being at the top with only one way to go.

I’ve lived by it ever since the older miners introduced me to thick oil and coal dust in a very delicate place on the day I was leaving the pit to work elsewhere back in ’53 I think it was. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it happened at the end of the shift but it happened at the beginning.

But NDIC held me in good stead in my navy days and in all the trials and tribulation since then. And believe you me there has been some doozies. But you don’t want to know about them.

All I will say is that every cloud DOES have a silver lining.

I don't believe that things happen to us as a form of punishment. Look at all the wicked people in the world who always come up smelling of roses. And I don't believe in reincarnation either. Things happen to us as a consequence of mistakes made by us or by other people. It's just cause and effect.

I do hope that your friend isn't too badly hurt and will make a full recovery and commiserations to your Mum on the loss of her cat. Losing a family pet can be heartbreaking I know.

I know it's awful when a lot of things happen so close together. Not long after my first husband died (in hospital of a DVT) our dog died and then my eldest daughter was rushed to the same hospital her Dad had been in and her life hung in the balance having been run over on her way to school. To look at her now you'd never believe she had so many broken bones not to mention lung damage and she still has a horrendous scar on her knee but she's alive and kicking and has just as much attitude as any other teenager.

I won't say things will get better because we never know what's going to happen next. All I can say is that somehow I managed to cope with all these things and I'm sure you will too. If there is anything practical that you need, like a new job, I hope that it will be better than the last one and that one day you'll look back and see the demise of MZ as a blessing in disguise.

Good luck to you in whatever the future brings. Try to think positive, I know it's not easy though.

I once had a conversation with Willow were I said I was a fatalist, and as she posted above she didn't really believe in a grand plan.

Neither do I really.

What I should have said is that it is very often the awful things which happen to us in life which make us stronger, and help form our character and who we are.

The people to me, who seem to have it all, are very often vacuous.

On behalf of Shady and myself thanks for all your good wishes and encouragement! So far so good today,no disasters yet but it's early days! I may even get a lottery ticket after all !

cant wait for this week to end either

monday 200 quid for a tooth

tuesday car blep up costing me hundreds to get repaired

just noticed i have a slow puncture as well so thats another £40 quid probably lol

good job bad luck isnt contageous coz i would be an epidemic waiting to happen this week

thank god for beer :D


hope you find a new job soon

i think i know what type of work you do it may be worth sending a c.v into places like blockbuster and game etc because they have been known to start people with expirence at management level
