Typical of today's modern police force. They are more interested in petty crimes just to improve their statistics.

Agree Tinks, could have made an amusing story for the local paper, whilst warning the public of the law, but also endearing the readers to the police and made good publicity for them, that they had taken it in good spirits.

Missed opportunity there I think for building good relationships.
