Mrsa
Anyone watch Tonight with Trevor McDonald about MRSA in hospitals, Well I did, but wish I hadn't. It just so happens that I have to go into The Royal on Wednesday morning for a small op (in and out in the day) but even so I can't say I'm really looking forward to it. Over the years I have spent a lot of time in hospital, In Bury, Rossendale, Burnley, BRI and Queens Park, but over the last few years I have refused to be admitted, because quite frankly I'm scared to death. Three years ago just before Christmas, a good friend, who I had met in hospital, went into BRI, caught MRSA and died within 10 days, since then wild horses won't get me in. I'm just hoping that I'm not one of the thousands who catch this dreadful little bug on Wednesday.

Re: Mrsa
I didnt watch it but I know people that have had it and survived and it cost them a year of work. My cousins mother in law has suspected MRSA and was saying that they do take it serious as she is on a constant supply of IV antibiotics and 15 mins check. Chrissie said that her leg was like a ballon and the heat was unreal.
Its still rarish its just that it is so well publisied so you should be ok. Oh by the way good luck. |

Re: Mrsa
I was in and out of there on the same day twice for two different ops and I'm still here to tell the tale.
Only little point of concern I had was blood in the loos but they cleaned it up quickly. |
Re: Mrsa
I didn't see the programme, but wish you a speedy recovery from whatever you are having done on Wednesday, and hope you'll be sent out bug free.:)

Re: Mrsa
I think you'll be fine Jaysay, the theatres at RBH are state of the art and the no admittance to visitors keeps the place very clean.

Re: Mrsa
The ward in Blackpool Vic where my hubby was, was spotless.he was barrier nursed in a side room, and we had to wear red aprons and gloves ,the nurses and doctors were very peticular about hygene . we had to wash our hands, then use the stuff in the special container on the wall, i couldent even go to the kitchen to fill his water jug,
And the cleaner there was a credit ... |
Re: Mrsa
On reading it, that post of mine doesn't make a lot of sense. :D I don't mean I went in and out for one op and then in and out for another one on the same day. I mean I went in and out on one day for one op and then in and out on an entirely different day for the other one.
