we used to have our knicker elastic over the bars at peel park,have they stopped that now,i dont know whats happening our kids are now told to use antibac hand wash and not to get any mud on their hands at school and on sports day they are not allowed to do the 3 legged race or sack race or egg and spoon race for the fear of getting hurt,i think it is wrapping them up in cotton wool

we used to tie elastic (we called it knicker elastic)round the small fence (the bars) at peelpark school,you put the elastic round the bars and the other person puts the elastic round their ankles and the other person jumped over the elastic,unless there was 3 peeps then we didnt have to use the bars,loads of peeps played the game,but i dont remember what it was called,

We used to play that as well, I think we just called it elastics!

It was called Elastics...I still remember the rhyme we sang.

England,Ireland,Scotland,whales-- Inside outside inside ON!!

at which point you had jump on the elastic with both feet.......if both feet were not on the elastic you was out!!
