petitions
I was on the petition website when i came across this "We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to stand on his head and juggle ice-cream"
If he's not going to resign, the least he can do is provide us with some entertainment. http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/juggle/ |
Re: petitions
Is it any wonder petitions don't do any good. :rolleyes:

Re: petitions
Petitions are aserious form of communicating the popilation at larges views or wish list when all avenues are blocked. To extract the urine like this diminishes the serious ones as well as this stupid on. I hope it is what it is stated as is true;
BETA TEST The e-petitions system launched in November 2006. It is currently in a public "beta test". This means that users are welcome to sign and create petitions, but we will be making changes to the site, as we fix technical problems, improve usability and respond to feedback. |
Re: petitions
I think that just refers to the workings of the site Spuggie, not to the policing of content. There are serious petitions on that site as well and unfortunately as you say people making stupid ones like that just spoil the chances of the serious ones being taken seriously.

Re: petitions
Since petitions are important you would think they would be policed. If they dont how do they expect any serious petitions to be taken seriously when it has a large amount of basically junk ones?
|
Re: petitions
I suppose it's up to the petition creator what they do with it - after all nothing to stop someone creating a paper petition about something ludicrous is there? Who would police that?

this one certainly raised a titter we the undersigned petition the pm to place a ban on the deputy pm eating pies. can't remember the others (well it was extremely early) but one i found was : we the undersigned blah blah petition to pass legislation to make cold calling illegal was very surprised at the lack of signatures though take a look at some of these for yourselves http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/list/open?cat=760 |
Re: petitions
but do they actually take any notice of petitions? or do they just get thrown in the bin....what a waste of paper
