The Prime Care Trust will be holding a laser light show all next week. The light show will be projected onto the new building on Paradise Street and will show the phases of developement from the old mill buildings to the new Centre.
It will begin at 7.00pm each week night starting Monday.
Hope for fine weather!

What a complete waste of money, how many extra staff could be paid a wage for what thats costing!

Let's face it, this sort of money-wasting is typical of today's NHS. In another thread, the cuts in birth centres are highlighted, yet there have been huge increases in NHS spending (financed by our taxes). So, where has all the money gone?...much of it has been wasted on ruinous schemes like the NHS National Programme for IT - the world's biggest civillian IT project. Its original budget was £2.3 billion, yet by the government's own estimates, it is now projected to cost a mind-boggling £20-£30 billion...money which would have been better spent on more hospitals and extra staff.

Re: NHS Health Centre show.

Apparently the light show is funded by the Neighbourhood Relief Fund, that was set up with the intention of improving areas considered to be deprived.
Though as I said in another posting, this fundings cutbacks have already resulted in anounced job losses and wage reductions for employees of the local community centre.
The allocations are probably seperate and can only be used for certain events, but all in all it does seem a little naive in its timing.

All these funds are drawn fron the same pot ( tax !!), pathetic how they keep calling bits of the same pot various named funds.
