Amazing Grace
For Beverly and me it was a truly great movie. William Wilberforce has always been one of my great heroes. In my opinion this movie is a magnificent tribute to his indomitable spirit and humanity.
What a marvelous movie in every respect -- I haven't witnessed audience applause at the conclusion of a film in a long time. Of course with such consummate actors as Ioan Gruffudd , Albert Finney, Michael Gambon and Benedict Cumberbatch, et al in leading roles the presentation was superb. Stay for the final credits -- the bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace is heart rending. Visit the official movie site: http://www.amazinggracemovie.com/ James |

Re: Amazing Grace
It looks a great film, I will be watching it when it's out over here.
I bought the box set of Roots a couple of weeks ago. It's nearly 30 years since I watched it on tv, but it brought it all back watching it this time round. |
Re: Amazing Grace
Have to check out the rental place on post when it comes out on DVD. Movies depend on who ever is ordering for the theatre

Re: Amazing Grace
A most moving trailer jamesicus, in one of the pieces set in parliament one members statement did strike hard "We have no evidence that the Africans themseves have any objection to the trade" how stupid that sounds now, a must see film for me.

Hopefully the film will inspire people to do something about the slavery which exists today. |
