Talk about keeping it in the family:eek: its SICK!!!
them poor kids! |
Re: Just wrong
Reading the link to the Daily Mail, theirs is quite a sad story, I dont condone incest, the poor children, though looking at the family history they had brothers and sisters that were handicapped so could be genetic anyway.

Re: Just wrong
It was in the Guardian too. But the one thing that was pointed out there that is quite relevant is that they had been seperated all through their formative years. Apparently, it happens quite often when siblings have been seperated at a young age and meet again as adults - they find themselves connecting but mistake it as sexual rather than family because they have no frame of reference. Apparently, also works the same way with parents meeting up with their children after being seperated - it's only knowing how society would judge them that keeps them from doing something improper.
I'm not condoning it and certainly don't think it's healthy but just think how many couples are attracted to each other who are alike in personality and looks. |
Re: Just wrong
This got me wondering.
They had been separated when very young and grew up apart. Supposing they had been adopted by different families and never knew they were brother and sister. They could have met as adults, fallen in love and married and had children and no-one, least of all them, would have been any the wiser. It's a complicated twist on human emotions as Gayle pointed out. To each other they probably don't feel like brother and sister. |
Re: Just wrong
Because they don't know what it's like to feel like a brother and sister. As far as they can see (and they're not very bright) they have a connection - which they have interpreted as sexual.
I actually feel quite sorry for them because they're in love (whatever they understand love to be) and are being told that they aren't allowed to be in love. |
Re: Just wrong
I don't post in cut and paste threads that have no comment.:(
Ok, I suppose I just have.:o |
Re: Just wrong
I find this both sick but slightly sad at the same time .... its soo sad that these kids had such a heartbreaking childhood themselves that they see truly not to be able to understand the wrong in what they are doing..
As for their own children ,yet again another sad state of affairs ,especially when they are older. but although I/ we or most of us at least know the solution ,how on earth do you try to get it through to two people who are so strongly convinced what they are doing is right ??..... |
