just seen this in the telegraph.....

TWO security guards barricaded themselves in a room after knife-wielding robbers smashed their way into a building society.
The Group 4 guards were inside the Nationwide building society, Broadway, Accrington, at 8pm yesterday when the two men broke through the front window.
The guards managed to lock themselves into an adjoining room but left the cases of cash outside.
The robbers then took the cases and escaped.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Accrington CID on 01254 353 741. :eek:

Has been burgled overnight;the window next to the ATM smashed and the machine out of order all day today. Handily the Police came round today and asked if our cctv had picked anything up,not really inspiring me with confidence since we are a block away ! :rolleyes:

Sounds a wonderful idea from the copper, i would of presumed the bank had cctv & security monitoring of their own especially round the atm:confused: apparently not, bet thy will soon tho:rolleyes:

Being Accy police the thieves probably used the JCB they dug the cash machine out of the wall as their get away vehicle.

And still got away.

On a serious note did they drag the machine out of the wall?
My lil sis used to work in a bank, you would be amazed how much money is taken out of one of those machines over a weekend.

conflicting story...was Nationwide burgled or did the robbers do a smash and grab?

Not surprised its Group 4, think its strange the cases were left outside, sounds dodgy to me.

possibly grego, but i would have left the cases also,could have had a shooter or anything.if it aint my money. sod it would be the order of the day.;)
