Power Cut

How many people were affected by the power cut last night. I believe quite a bit of Accy was off and some of blackburn.

We were dead organised. Julie found the candles whilst I checked on the old dear next door, Then I got the Tilley lamp out the garage, music playing on the loudspeaker of my phone with the fire roaring away in the background.

No internet of course but I managed to survive without the shakes. :D

Re: Power Cut

My lecky went off at 8.45pm. I had just poured a glass of wine, reclined back in my electric armchair and got a good book out... I had to climb down from the chair which was stuck in its' recline position, got the torch out an lit all of my candles, forgot where I'd left the wine and checked on the neighbours.

It came back on at 9.50, then went off again for 5 minutes at 10.30. I gave up the wine and went to bed at that point..

Ye had a power cut round my way at about that time.

Came back on, re booted PC and Wammy of it went again for 5 mins.

Bad thing was I now realise having only a BT home Hib for a telephone I was also left Phoneless, which is no good, so of to but a normal phone today.

Re: Power Cut

If you plug your phone directly into the socket it will work on the good old BT network.

Will members of accyweb please cease from carrying out comparison tests between filament and light saver bulbs at that time of night, my calculator stopped working during the power-cut not because of the solar cells but because I tripped over it!:D
