Ex-Whitehall chief slams ‘Stalinist’ Brown
So on the eve of the budget the Chancellor seems to be under attack from a top manderin in the civil service as being Stalinistic. If what is being said is true and Gordon Brown holds most govenment departments in contempt then what does this hold for his stewardship as the possible next Prime Minister.

Maybe it's a good thing Brown has a ruthless streak.. it seems to have worked ok considering the 10 years he has held his post have been enconimically the most stable period in living memory.
If Lord Turnbill feels he needs to make his views public why didn't he open his gob during the 4yrs he worked for Brown?...I wonder if his decision to speak up has anything to do with him taking a very nice job for a right wing private consulting company? ..just a thought! |

A wise old soul once told me, If a person is not liked they are doing their job, at least from their perspective. The only reason Gordon Brown has presided over this false dawn is that he was in the right place as China was emerging from slumber.

Somehow I think the next 12 to 18 months will be fun. As with all power battles there will always be someone who shouts foul to the press. Lets see what they have to say after the budget this afternoon.
