Poor Polar Bear

This article made me feel sick that someone would even consider the action that has been quoted.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2007130133,00.html

Considering the plight of wild Polar bears I believe the zoo is in the right.

Re: Poor Polar Bear

Idoits. So its against its rights to be brought up by humans but its ok for humans to kill it?

Re: Poor Polar Bear

I am in full agreement with everyone here. How much more stupid can animal rights activist get? The zoo is doing the right thing in my opinion.

Re: Poor Polar Bear

Re: Poor Polar Bear

Polar bears can be solitary animals....and to add to that there is a real risk that they may become extinct......so wouldn't it make sense to keep this one alive purely for breeding purposes. Zoos have performed well in keeping certain species alive and re-populating the wild.

that bear could have a very good career in advertising

Re: Poor Polar Bear

I too agree with all the above (:p except maybe for Tadah's little rant!;) ). Hopefully this type of stupidity will show the populice what these jerks are really all about. Many of them also, in the same way, believe having pets is wrong. They really get my dander up!!!!!!!!!

Re: Poor Polar Bear

if the animal rights people are against having pets and decided every cat on the planet shoudl be destroyed they would have my full support and help but all this about the polar bear is pathetic

“He’ll rely on humans forever and this cannot be right.” [quote.]

They all rely on humans, they live in a bloody zoo!

God, some animal right activists are so stupid. I'd put them all in laboratories, and rub bubble bath in their eyes.

Re: Poor Polar Bear

The thing is, that this animal doesn't know any different. He can't read the papers, read our web site, go to school and know how we humans view how Polar Bears should be living .. so he is happy in the word he is experiencing.

Well fed, well treated , good health care, adoring public, stress free ... all relevant to what you are programmed to expect.. and he knows nowt ... so happy chappy I reckon.

better looked after than most children if you ask me katex

Nicely summed up. If they couldnt put it down I take it thes activists would have dumped it at the North Pole. Hell its getting better care than pensioners.
Let it live.

Re: Poor Polar Bear

What happens when a lion has cubs or a bear or panda or any other animal that has young and they hand rear them - do they expect them to kill them as well?

Re: Poor Polar Bear

When a Polar Bear is born the only real preditor the mother has to protect it from are other Polar Bears, this poor chap has the animal rights after it's blood, either way it was born it seems in or out of captivity it's a looser.

Maybe when that polar bear cub gets a bit older, we can both feed it and exercise it with a nice, soft, juicy animal rights activist! LOL!

Re: Poor Polar Bear

In Canada they are starting to use animal rights activists in laboratory expts: this is because the lab techs don't get emotionally attached to them. Polar bears eat baby seals ... they rip them apart: red in tooth and claw ... before Newfoundlanders can club them.

WillowTheWhisp 22-03-2007 20:02

Re: Poor Polar Bear

Has anybody else noticed that animal rights activists don't seem to care very much about human beings?

Margaret Pilkington 22-03-2007 20:19

Re: Poor Polar Bear

That's OK Willow, because most human beings care very little for these activists.
