police coverage in accy

i had teh pleasure of talking to a copper on saturday and was quite amazed by what i learned and although very believable it still beggars beleif

on friday night there were 4 police oficers covering the whole of the accrington area so i assume that means clayton , ozzy, accy , baxenden

on friday night a fight broke out at the golden cross which required teh assistance of every available copper in accy which liek i said was 4 officers

apparently teh fight was of a large scale and to make their pressance more noticable the poor sods ( police officers) had to take a vehicle each to make it look like there were more of them

on saturday night again there were 4 police officers on duty and i wished him good luck as it approached chucking out time at teh pubs

is it the council who is responsible for this pathetic state of affairs

bear in mind while this fight in ozzy was been sorted there were no police officers covering the whole of teh accrington area

i believe if anything was to happen police would be called in from burnley or blackburn but what bloody good is that realy ?

who do we blame for this is it gregg popes boss or is it HBC because they dont put enough coppers on duty

why do labour keep making laws because there is no one to enforce them

Sounds like Linlithgow a few years ago. The lack of bobbies led to the "youngies" taking on the oldies ie teens early 20's took on the late 20's early 30's after a bit of a falling out do. The police force at the time was 5 and let the battle go ahead with a warning that the LIvingston and Falkirk support would be there in about 15 mins. :D They couldnt stop it so stood back and let it happen

A friend of mine was young copper back in the 70's and he jacked in because he got transferd to Accy.. he said he wanted more action and Blackburn was the place to be!... mind you some fights can get nasty no matter where they are, I'll bet I'm not they only one that has been in a situation were you are wondering when the police will arrive. If these coppers have to make time to get into 4 different cars to sort out a row that must have been going on for quite a while it's not very good is it.

Thst really knocked my confidence in the cops in another borough that i moved back home!!

Word of advice - if you ring the police station (not 999 the regular number) and ask for someone to come but they don't - ring back after five minutes to remind them.

Someone I know phoned the police and they didn't show up all night. When they rang the day after to ask why they didn't come they were told 'we didn't come because you didn't ring back so we didn't think it was important enough'.

So, if you need them keep bugging them till they come.

their answer was probably bullsh**,gayle, i actually called at the police station after twice ringing on behalf of mum-in-law, and still got nobody- staff on more serious matters i was told. thats about 10-12 years ago.

not completely true gayle ..well not here in blackpool anyhow...not long ago my daughter were being bullied at school to the extent that the girl was expelled from school and she continued to wait for my daughter to walk to school, she gave my daughter a good hiding one day and because the school couldnt do anything they asked me to involve the police , which i did .. my daughter were in a right state and i phoned the police at lunchtime and 11pm that night i got a phone call from them apologising because they had been busy elsewhere . (no help to my daughter at the time ) same the day after.. it took them three days to come out .. although when they finally did and saw the severity of the situation they became more helpful and everyone finally worked together..ie police ,myself and school resulting in a prosicution... but should it really have taken so long? no is my reply..
