both of my parents worked full time to keep us in food and clothes.....we never had a foreign holiday...in fact we never went away at all...unless you call a day trip to Edisford Bridge a holiday. OK, I was born just after the war and things were different then......but I also had to work to supplement my hubby's income....again to ensure we had a roof over our heads and food in our bellies.
There wasn't the same 'live now, pay later' mentality....and the only debt we had was our mortgage.

Sure do hope they get more than five bob ... At the time I was going, five bob was an hour's wage for a lot of guys. But I'm happy to see that some good things are not changing.;)
