What's the point of YELLOW PAGES etc.
 

I've just had this years' Yellow Pages and Thomson Directories delivered. Again they're going straight to the tip. I mean what is the point? Imagine all the millions of copies in the UK. Who uses them anyway? Like if you needed a plumber or an electrician you're going to pluck one from there - yeah right! Plus with the wonders of the internet.. information isn't needed in this way and it's such a waste of trees.
I think you should only get one if you ASK for one.

Not everyone has the interweb yet. they also make excellent destruction toys for 2 year olds, can be used to kiss tall girls, prop up tables with wonky legs, etc

Oh, and sometimes its easier to pick up a book than power up your PC etc.

I'm probably as web enabled as anyone but I occasionally use my YP to find names/numbers.

I use my Thomson all the time. Only yesterday I needed the number for Towsend Records at Gt Harwood so I head straight for the phone book. I only ever think of looking online for a telephone number as a last resort :confused:

I dont use mine either they just weigh my book shelf down, tend to use online or ask here :p:D

i can find a local firm using yellow pages a lot quicker than what i can using the yellowpages website because the website is basicly crap and will give you listings way out of town that you never asked for

the website is ok if your looking for out of area places like tropical fish sellers etc but for plumbers and kebab shops you cant beat the book

or even collect all teh unwanted ones in your area and use tyhem to keep warm in winter by opening up that old fireplace

Whilst China and the USA are pumping out 75% of all CO2 and other noxious gases teh Uk will always only be a bit player in teh 'green' market.

Likewise most Offices in London leave teh lights on all night in March so that their 'electricity budget' doesn't get cut.
