Apology to Chav

I hope the moderators will let this stand and I hope that, despite having asked to be banned Chav, will still read this.

I would like to apologise for calling you an idiot yesterday. I should not have done that. I should not have reacted angrily.

I have seen a whole family go to hell and back when the husband and father had a break-down. I also saw people treat him with disdain and tell him to pull himself together, something which he was totally incapable of understanding how to do. Pills didn't cheer him up. They just turned him into an automaton and then left him addicted. Memories came flooding back of what they all went through at the time with his wife sobbing her heart out to us because he was no longer the person she knew and she was getting to the point of not being able to cope with it all herself.

Memories of people, who just didn't understand, telling her to cheer him up and telling him to pull himself together made me want people to realise that although depression cannot be seen by an outsider, and the sufferer may even seem to put on a convincing front to those who do not know them the illness itself is very real and very debilitating. What seemed to be a general dismissive statement of such suffering caused me to react angrily to flippant comments about depression. I should not have allowed myself to do that and I apologise for what I said in response.

However angry I was at your posts, I had no right whatsoever to call you an idiot and for that I apologise sincerely.

Re: Apology to Chav

I too would like to appologise. I've obviously upset Chav, through posting something he didn't think should be public knowledge.

I too reacted angrily, partly because the subject of depression/suicide is a very sensitive subject to me personally.

Not having another dig but...if you are going to have strong views, and are prepared to post them on a public forum, you must then also be prepared for other people to react, and answer back.

Anyway, sorry for any offence caused.

Which I don't get, whats the point in asking to be banned? If he doesn't want to come on AW then he just has to stay away, no one forces him to come on here.

Perhaps he was upset? He may have been more worried about what he would say, if he just left he could come back but if he felt that he would say something he would regret, perhaps he felt it better to ask for a ban.

Chav1 Please don't leave, believe me it's cold out there, we at least admit we don't understand you, but we still answer you.

entwisi you used to be more sensitive than I am, what's happened?:)

It's an addiction, it's very hard to stay away, particularly when there are threads that you're involved in so getting yourself banned is possibly the healthy option.

I hope you can get a replacement soon what with the Bank Holiday. If our doctor's is anything to go by you have to wait a couple of days from ordering to actual collecting. When I went to get a repeat prescription for my eye drops it wasn't even on the prescription when I picked it up but they'd got two lots of something else on there and the wrong nasal spray! I dread to think of the possible consequences if people don't check them. I did manage to get it changed there and then and the eye drops added but it shouldn't need all that faffing about. I try to plan ahead so that I don't run out of anything, I've got so many different things.

IP = Internet Provider.

It's the number that theoretically identifies your individual PC.

He could always ask Mick to unban it.

mick said when he goes thats it, a total i.p ban

i'll have to take a walk up the docs tomorrow, order the prescription then wait 48 hours for it, walk back up and collect it....so if i'm a ratty cow the next few days ya know why :D

Perhaps that's down to a moderating decision or AccyWeb policy then. Having moderated and co-admined a forum I know it is possible to unban IPs

Wow, I guess I was out of this loop to:eek: . Sounds like an April fools joke (Or more that's what I would hope it all was!) Chav is so much a part of Accyweb I couldn't imagine him being out:confused:  :(  ! Ya just can't do that to family can ya/should ya:o ? I do hope that all gets resolved and the folks close to the chavster give him my best wishes!!!

As for depression, been there, am there, will be there. It is such a drag when it hits and how it hits. I can usually put a pretty good mask over it and when I can't I take myself out of social circulation. The manic stages are about as bad but I do get alot of work done during it. It also feels so good to feel so good!

This is very sad about chav. Please clarify as any of you can. I'll take a pm if anyone feels more comfy that way!

Brian

Actually its Internet Protocol but I'll not split hairs :D

In todays terms with so many people on routers its actually the IP address that your ISP Intrenet service provider assigns to your router when you connect(Each individual PC within your home network is normally assigend a class C network addresss starting 192.168.*.*. It allows the ISP to route any response packets back to the originating IP address. Your PC actually asks your router to get some data and the router repeats the request out into the big bad world.

I posted a link to a really good(and quite funny) video all about this sort of stuff.

yes Mick could un-ban it if he so chooses.

Hey, thanks for all that everybody .. just an Internet novice still .. didn't know that's how the Moderators did it .. all makes sense now. Still a lot to learn yet.

Feel sure that Chav only needs to ask though .. just sulkin' I guess .

Dratit! I'm always doing that. It all started when someone I know used to get his wires crossed between IP and ISP and say that his IP was AOL because AOL provided his internet. I'd tell him that was his ISP and he'd insist that I was wrong because the 's' stood for 'serial' and referred to the 'internet provider serial number' :D - This is the guy who once told me he could get online without a provider 'just by using Internet Explorer'!!!

He's a 'he' Ber - a lot of posts were removed from the other thread so what you see there now is not actually all that happened on the day. However, I still feel that my apology was in order despite that.

I do hope that all can make ammends and make things good. As that wonderful, elegant American phylosopher, Sir Rodney King, stated "Can't we all just get along?":o  ;) :p

Life is too short folks. Bad trouble in Virginia today as I'll state in a new thread!
