Help Name the New Pup!
Okay, after 6 years, I've finally found a new German Shepherd Dog (Import). She is a real cutie. However, it has been hard to settle on a name. Can some of you guys weigh in?
We've had others named Gretel and Heidi. I don't know if I should go with one of those or: Sasha (Annie's choice), Ilsa, Victoria (Joshua's), chav von banned ot:rolleyes: , . . . . Cindy doesn't even know we have her yet so she'll be weighing in later. Thanks for any thoughts fam! Brian |

Re: Help Name the New Pup!
I like any of the following (that is, if you insist on a German name) :-
Agna. Bindy. Elice. Elsa. Freja. Fritzi. Gertie. Klara. Liesl. Lotte. Mitzi. Senta. I quite like Bindy, Fritzi, Gertie, Mitzi or Senta myself. Think I would probably go for Gertie. |
Re: Help Name the New Pup!
Go on call her Tinkerbelle, Brian ....... ya know you want to really ;) :D

Re: Help Name the New Pup!
Our family had a Belgian shepherd called Buster-what a beauty he was.Jumped over the small part of the cliff at Margate taking my grandad with him and they both survived unhurt!
I like to see an animal before i name it-some names just suit better but my fave name at the mo is Bumble :D although 'Ya bumble be cold if ya dont put ya knickers on' springs to mind when i say it so maybe not :S |
Re: Help Name the New Pup!

Re: Help Name the New Pup!
If you don't particularly want a German name, how about Hera. Queen of the Gods, and according to mythology, a real bitch. I had a beautiful Rotti of that name. She seemed to like it.

Re: Help Name the New Pup!
I would go for Sable.

Re: Help Name the New Pup!
Well, well, well, instead of making me job easier, you guys come up with loads of other brilliant choices. This just after we got her down to Sasha or Victoria ((tori (just for cyfr and meself!)) Cindy came home and said we could call her Rindy! I think accyweb has totally enveloped the Culpeper clan eh?
Now Tinks, do I want to name her tinks as a nifty name or because aunty tinks can be quite a "female dog" on ocassion?:p Back to the bl**dy drawing board! Brian |
Re: Help Name the New Pup!
When I worked at GEC as Fire/Security we had 2 German Shepard Dogs 1 was called SABER who had a lovely thick black coat, the other had a massive head, and the tri-coloured coat of Balck, Brown and Tan, by the name of QUEENIE and he was as strong as an Ox and enjoyed sniffing out the night shift workers when they had stepped out for a fag break LOL

What about calling her 'Merlot', Brian, a good dog is like a good wine, a good servant but a poor master.;)

After that it would be chasing it's own tail, and you'd get no sense out of it at all.;):D |
Re: Help Name the New Pup!
Sadly Rindy this is cow and beef cattle country around here. As for pics. Mick, we've got plenty of the homestead, nutkin the baby squirrel and now of "no name but wicked expensive German Shepard/Alsation puppy biatch!":D
I will once again encourage the kids, home for spring break, to get the pics from here to there. Brian |

The breed was originally the German Shepherd but in WW1 anything remotely German was deemed unacceptable in this country. Prince Louis of Battenberg changed his name to Mountbatten (literal translation) to sound English and the German Shepherd became the Alsation (Alsace was a German/French region which, at the time, was claimed by France). It's only since after WW2 that the original name started to gain ground again. The Mountbattens, however, don't seem to want to revert to their German roots! :D |
Re: Help Name the New Pup!
Why not call it 'Deefer'?
(For those struggling to get it- Deefer Dog- D for Dog) Get it? Yeah ok not that funny |
