Well I was determined not to go out today and therefore, hopefully, avoid anything bad happening but, I might have known it would find me anyway - half of the glass in me back door shattered this morning - don't tell me Friday 13th is no different to any other day :)

Re: Take Care Today

Apparently it's cheaper to get married on Friday 13th as this is a date that very few people want for their wedding day due to superstition. This also applies to 1st of April. It seems that people don't want to get married on April Fools day either so if you're not superstitious and choose one of these two dates for your wedding you could save a substantial amount of money at the venue.

Piece on the radio earlier that Insurance companies have produced research indicating that there are higher instances of road accidents on Friday the 13th than on nay other date. Driving round South Yorkshire today would seem to be borne out.

Seems you reap what you sow on Friday the Thirteenth, that may be the answer to both threads. Just for the record this member won £20.00 on the club raffle today, chin chin.

I had a phone call from 'im indoors earlier. It seems that our ancient Renault Clio aka Melvyn, has given up the ghost. Poor Brian, first the budgie and now the car. I'm scared to go home!!

Re: Take Care Today

I've never had a problem with Friday the 13th until yesterday.

I put my watch on and it promptly fell off as the strap broke.

In the afternoon I took Laura to the Garden Centre and, amongst other things, we bought a packet of cucumber seeds. When we got home we noticed the packet wasn't sealed properly. On opening it we found the corner of the foil envelope inside was torn and there were no seeds in it. Some devious b*gger had decided £3.99 was too much to pay for a packet of seeds.

I found the receipt and went to phone the Garden Centre - the phone was dead. Did all the tests on the main junction box, as BT advise, using each phone in the house (5 in all). All dead!

I started to dial BT's number, on my mobile, to report a fault - and my mobile's battery ran out.

Friday the 13th? What a day.
